M-KG is a hustler. and a good shot down defender! we need this type of guys in our team. a duo of parsons and MK-G in the 3 spot is good IMHO.
Fixed!! I agree and feel that with a hustler and leader like M-KG and Lowry they could do wonders on this team at both ends of the floor. Here's to the Knicks staying on their steady decline. :grin:
Odom? Surprised to hear that comparison. Offensively, Jones is not good. I don't see Kentucky much, but he was disruptive defensively when I've seen him. Jones will be a bust if a team tries to use him for a lot of offense. If he goes around 14, he could be a decent role player.
Don't understand the fuss about Drummond. He looks like the 2nd coming of Jerome James to me. Can't hit a FT to save his life. Very pedestrian scoring at just the college level. I have felt Perry Jones was kinda slow mentally ever since I saw him interviewed in H.S. Then he goes to Baylor and immediately has eligibility problems. Phenomenal athlete, don't know if he has it in the brains dept. I think Barnes will make people regret thinking Gilchrist was better at the next level. I think Barnes is the premier SG of the next decade in the NBA. Yeah, SG, not SF. His length and size will be unmatched at SG in the NBA. Sullinger - Charles Barkley with class Robinson - want to see more of him. I think he could turn into a true stud at both ends of the court. Rivers - I think he'll have a great career. Gilchrist - looks like another Leonard to me, hustler, don't see him ever being a serious offensive threat Davis - very legit, should be a Center once he adds a few pounds Lamb - like him in the low lottery mid first round Ezeli - underrated, has Deke potential defensively, will never be anything offensively John Henson - needs to add 25 lbs of pure muscle or a 3-point shot. Don't see him doing either one of them. A less quick Mikki Moore. Meyers Leonard - draftable in the mid first round, has great attitude and drive and decent skill set with good size. Could become really good or could just be servicable. Either way, he'll have a decent career as a big in the NBA. Lilliard - very underrated, will be a scorer in the NBA and one of the ten best players in the 2012 class. Mitchell - reminds me of Rodman on the court, have no idea what his character is like Wroten - a quick undersized SG, got talent but all those bullet passes don't work, has no passing touch, way too turnover prone, will not make it in the NBA without some serious adjustment to his game, not big enough to be effective at SG, not skilled enough to be a PG, the classic tweener that forces way too much, won't be effective at the NBA without a serious skillset upgrade in his passing/playmaking. Tony Wroten is more of a pg than a SG. Jay Bilas called him the best passing PG he has seen in a long time that came out of HS.
Busts: Perry Jones - for obvious reasons, he just doesn't seem to care. Kidd Gilchrist - athletic and tough but can't score. has scary lack of range on jumper. Marshall - very one dimensional. very poor mechanics on his J. Henson - I think I could post him up Studs: Anthony Davis - put some meat on this dude's bones and he's a premier next level defender. Lamb - go to scorer in waiting. love him. Thomas Robinson - my favorite player in the draft. clearly loves to play and with his skill set it makes him a MONSTER. Leonard - I'm in love with his size and mobility. Hopefully Rockets can snag him so McHale can work his magic. Sullinger - Needs to work on defense but has enviable offensive game for a 4 man in today's league Sleepers: William Buford - Knows how to score and that always translates. Dee Bost - savvy player Doron Lamb - love how cocky he is Terrance Ross - slipping in the ranks but I dig his size and all around game.
Draft Xpress has Lamb at 11, Leonard at 14, and Moultrie at 24. I'd go and get all of those guys at those draft positions!
I know this sounds weird, but Perry Jones is a big wildcard, because he's the type of player who would be colossal bust if he is drafted in top 5-7, though if he falls to teens, like 12 and lower. For the reason, that expectations would be much lower and he'd be on a better team surrounded by more vets (less knuckleheads), while he would be force to sort of assert himself more. ON a bad team, like the Wizards and Pistons, he's got a great likely chance of being a disappointment. Though, send him to a fair to good team (franchise), like the Suns, Rockets, or Lakers (unlikely). His career has a better chance, because he'll at least be challenged more often. There's a player in lower first round who is similar to Perry Jones, but shorter and more fire, LeBryan Nash. Though, his problem is attitude issues, but he has very few weaknesses in his game. I feel the same way about Marshall, too. He could be a decent point guard in the NBA, but us to draft him shouldn't be on our list. We have two point guards, already, while Marshall's talent would make us significantly better.
Austin Rivers will be a superstar. Number one prospect coming outta HS, and somehow is projected in in the 20+ range for 2012 draft. Rockets should get him.
I wouldn't be disappointed with a pick of MKG but may be out of our range with the NY pick. But my sights are on Meyers Leonard from Illinois. With Dalembert in his last season next year, I can't help but imagine the possibility of the Rockets establishing their frontcourt and having two 7ft guys in Motiejunas and Leonard on defense and McHale coaching them up.
