Exactly. Scola's defense must be among the very worst in the league. And I'm not exaggerating. Watching Scola step aside to allow teams' other players in their layup drills is the worst part of the game. How I wish we could package Luis elsewhere. I like him but if it's possible his D just seems worse this year, maybe due to some sort of fatigue (did he play in the PanAmerican games last summer?)
Good question. With next season being the last on his contract, still playing at a high level(despite lower PPG), and great health(knock on wood) I can imagine there are alot of teams inquiring about Martin. More than likely Morey is probably trying to package Scola's contract with Martin's on the open market to rebuild with a star player, but the worse Scola plays, and the older he looks, makes this deal much more difficult to make over time. Scola's contract is by far, the worst one on the books and surely one that Morey would attach to any deal including a star. I still have to believe that Morey will push hard to move both Martin/Scola by the trade deadline this March. No guarantee's theres a big contract player out there worth trading for, but if one's available then you have to think the Rockets will be in the mix. If your a Gasol fan, then you should be rooting for the Lakers to loose a ton of games in the next few weeks.
Samuel Dalembert, Terrence Williams, Goran Dragic, and Chace Budinger ...for... Gerald Wallace and Nicolas Batum Is Wallace really the "All-Star" we have all been waiting on. He is as much of an "All-Star" as Pau Gasol. -I think this trade would fill most of the needs that Portland has. -Yes, SammyD and Dragic would be a loss. SammyD is not the long term answer at center Donatas Motiejunas is, IMO. DM plays no D at all so we need to get D form somewhere. Thoughts? Here is really bad one to just dump Martin Kevin Martin ...for... Marcus Camby & the rights to Victor Claver -Cap space
How dare you compare Pau to Gerald Wallace. Also, Portland wouldnt trade both of their above average Small Forwards for two below average Small Forwards.
Dally plus 2 of Martin, Lowry, Scola, plus Patterson, plus expirings, plus a future first rounder for Dwight/Hedo and whatever else Orlando wants to dump, provided we still have enough cap space at the end of the season for one max free agent. The whole league is waiting to see what happens with Dwight.
so it would be Sammy, Terrence, bud, goran , and martin for Wallace, batum , and camby? I'd do that. Heck I'd throw in a 2nd rd pick for that.
-If Pau Gasol stayed on the Grizz MOST would not feel that way (Laker hype - plus playing on a championship team with a HOF coach being the second option covers up one's shortcomings see scottie pippen) he good, really good but so is Wallace - SammyD - Portland needs to move on from a 37 year old Camby that is starting to stay dinged up. They need someone to plug the paint so LaMarcus Aldridge and Raymond Felton can do their work - put Kevin Martin and Budinger in the mix for spacing. This was the Yao Ming formula we never really got to see - LaMarcus Aldridge may turn into a MVP type. Plus T-Will with space for him to grow. ...for... Wallace, Batum, Camby and the right to Claver (you have to give to get) maybe I am off, but that is a win for BOTH sides
Been wondering about a Granger Martin swap. I'd think Orlando would prefer Granger. Also wondering what big man we could get for Dally and Scola so we could offer Granger and a big for Dwight.
Yeah whats up with Granger? Rapidly declining or uninterested in being on the Pacers now? I think he is now below worth of a Kevin Martin at least from a statistical standpoint so far this season.
