We need more size, hustle and defense so we trade away players that don't have it (anymore) ... http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=7p55vqh Rockets trade: Scola, Hill, Bud, Thabeet, Flynn, future 2nd round draftpick Rockets receive: Gortat, Turiaf and Seraphin Suns trade: Gortat and future 2nd round draftpick Suns receive: Blatch, Hill, Bud and future 2nd round draftpick (Rockets) Wizards trade: Seraphin, Turiaf and Blatch Wizards receive: Scola, Flynn, Thabeet and future 2nd round draftpick (Suns) Why? We all know the Suns and Wizards are going nowhere ... they are willing to trade (now). * Rockets trade the Arizona boys (Hill and Bud) to the Suns, Wizards want to get rid of Blatch and can trade them to the Suns because they need a scoring thread below. * Rockets trade Scola (decent, professional PF) to the Wizards who are in need of an unselfish player (instead of Blatch at PF). Wizards will take the contracts of Thabeet (back-up of McGee) and Flynn (back-up of Wall) ... * Rockets receiving Turiaf (C/PF) and Seraphin (PF/C), both players can bring defense, effort and hustle ... Rockets line-up: * PG: Lowry/Dragic * SG: Martin/Lee * SF: Parsons/T-Will/Morris * PF: Patterson/Turiaf/Seraphin * C: Gortat/Dalembert I think that's a decent and deep rotation & we can still trade for a starting SF (Batum, Iggy, ...)
One problem -- very good trade but there's no way the Suns would trade Gortat (who is currently their best player, arguably) for peanuts.
They're day and night. Parker's on another level up. You can't blame the Spurs fans for responding the way they do at a random and preposterous trade thread.
I think they have the same problem than the Wizards ... going nowhere with the players they have. Too make the trade work, we could also throw in a 1st round draftpick. So the Suns trade away Gortat (+ 2nd round draft pick) and getting Blatche (young starting PF/C), Hill (young back-up C/PF), Bud (young back-up SF/SG), a 2nd + 1st round draft pick in return ... it could work, IMO.
I think that if the Suns do make a trade, it will have to involve Nash. They'd probably trade him to get more young talent.
Flynn + Hill + Thabeet for Kaman + 2nd round pick Similar to the 'X-factor' and his increased impact on our team, I think that Kaman can provide that low post game and legit C with size/rebounding/blocking in that 2nd unit. Lowry/Dragic Martin/Lee Parsons/Bud Scola/Patterson Dalembert/Kaman our second unit really needs a boost in the arm. would N.O. accept this kind of deal?
They will trade Nash, but it don't have to be in a package with Gortat. They can still do a second trade with other teams ...
I don't know, dude ... the Hornets trade away a decent big guy and a second rounder for 3 busts of the 2009 draft. You do the math ... You should ask yourself: 'Would David Stern pull the trigger?'
kaman is an expiring this year. why not trade him for 3 young players that also expire this year and take a better look at them to evaluate if any are worth keeping long term.
Hill, Flynn an Thabeet all have a year left after this season, they are coming off the books in 2013.
stealing from the Knicks thread, what trades could we make with BOS/MIL to improve them so they put NYK in the lottery?
The 09 draft busts all have Team options for the 2012/13 season. Meaning the Rockets can essentially waive all of those players if they wanted to after this season. The NBA hasnt made it clear(at least to the public) when exactly teams have to make a decision or not on these players but more than likely they will have till the end of the season to make that decision. Its been noted that the end of January is the deadline, but there are conflicting reports. More than likely Jordan Hill and maybe Terrence Williams will get their team options picked up. Flynn and Thabeet are no brainers to part with after this season. Flynn and Thabeet are essentially expiring contracts. Thats why Morey wasnt hesitant at all to pick up these two players last year because he saw value in them as trade assets, and a flyer for turning a corner and actually becoming decent players on the court. No way he'd sacrifice 2012 summer cap space on Thabust and Flynn.
when will we trade martin? i would not mind watching courtney lee starting at the 2 this season starting lowry, lee, parsons, dalembert would negate the horror of the scola defense.
That's very true. It would likely be a very good defensive team.....that would struggle to score because you only have one guy (Scola) that can get his. Scola would get consistently double-teamed and you'd be relying on Chandler to hit 3's. We need a serious 2-way player in the worst way.
Two trades that help the Celtics and Milwaukee reach the playoffs, and push in the Knicks into the lottery!! 1st trade Boston/ Rockets/ N. Orleans Boston receives: Emeka Okafor C, Goran Dragic PG Houston Receives: Avery Bradley, Xavier Henry SG, J. Oneal(expiring), Wilcox (expiring) and Dooling (expiring) N. Orleans receives: Luis Scola PF, Courtney Lee SG 2nd trade Milwaukee/ Rockets/ Toronto Miwaukee receives: Kevin Martin SG Houston Receives: 2012 Milwaukee 1st rd pick, Tobias Harris SF/PF, Ersan Ilyasova PF(expiring), Leandro Barbosa (expiring) Toronto Receives: Beno Udrih PG, Chase Budinger SF
Maybe they'll trade Nash near the deadline for Paul Pierce. Clears more cap room for Boston next year. At about that time, Aaron Brooks will be back from China.
