Interesting. The editor of the student paper resigned. Less than 24 hours after the story broke...more like less than 12 hours later, the Paterno family confirmed. Did Joe die last night? Maybe. Maybe not. I don't think the error was that huge in hindsight. The paper went off an e-mail sent to players.
Aside from the whole Sandusky thing, why is everyone (including CNN) calling him a hero? You would think he did a lot of charity, community service, or other generally selfless deeds. He won some football games (which was his job), became famous (which was also self-serving). In the end, he put importance of his reputation (and Penn State's reputation) over the lives of young boys. Not very hero-like to me.
