His current A/TO ratio is at 2.45.
He has a long way to reach 11...

haven't heard anybody else say it, probably because people here are too young or don't remember his early-years game, but his most direct comparison is a collegiate/first couple years as a pro brent barry.

when brent barry was a flashy pg, not a spot-shooting 2 guard.

LOL some of the statements made in this thread are ridiculous

11 assists per game with 1 turnover? hahaha

and because he made that last open three he is all of a sudden a good shooter? He was 0-10 before that, come on, get real.

I really don't wanna be a Rubio hater, he is definitely a good PG who will always make his team better, but I just can't get over some of these statements.

The best comparison is Jose Calderon without a shot but with more defense. I really have no idea why there's so much hype surrounding Rubio, go watch Calderon play, he is running the offense in exactly the same way and racking up high assist numbers with much worse teammates, there's a reason why Spain made him the starting PG.

Check out the season Calderon had in 07/08, 50% from the field 40% from deep and 90% from the line with 8.3 assists and 1.5 turnovers per game. Did he get any recognition for that? There probably wasn't even a thread for him here, while Rubio gets his own thread almost every game.

The point is, Rubio at best is a slightly-below-average-income-man's Calderon but for some reason everyone's treating him like a godsend.

It's not about numbers, it's how the player controls the game. Rubio is clearly better than Calderon in that area.

Is he really though or is it just Adelman's system? I'm sorry but I just don't agree with that.

Bingo. He controls the game and leads his team. He's a top 10 PG in the league right now. Where do you think he goes from here?

    Wake up haters! Wake up!

if you think rubio is the next brent barry you are a hater, plain and simple. Same goes for those that say calderon.

face it, this guy is electrifying the league. hubie said as much last night. when rubio comes to town you want to go to the game to see what the hype is.

I'm a full-fledged member of the Rubio bandwagon, but let's tap the brakes a little.

He may have. But shortly he's gonna roll back over and ask for League Pass so he can watch the kid all the time.
