Clippers = 2000s Kings/Mid 2000s Suns. We've seen this before. An explosive offensive team with 3 point shooters but can't get a stop when really needed and they dont rebound well. They're good enough to be in the conversation among the elites but wont go farther than WCFs

I thought it was funny how Billups sees that its Rubio taking the 3 so he doesn't even try to contest the shot, instead he stops to watch him take it. Though Rubio was clutch for hitting it when it counts. I admit this kid plays with a great calm, he reminds me of a flashier Jose Calderon. Jose doesn't get enough credit, he's played on the Craptors for too long, but he's a very good PG (except on D).

How in the world do you leave Love open at that moment. He is the player you have to guard (especially with ridnour takine the ball inbound).

 

Rubio has a smile on his face when he's taking that 3 -- pretty funny.

 

That was a nice wall set up by two Timberwolves players to keep Jordan away from Love.

& pure joy after hitting it. So how long does it generally take them to evolve from that mindset after doing something, to walking about the court for 20 seconds ignoring everyone, in a worship-me pose? 2nd year?

If I recall correctly when Adelman was coach here our final second plays always sucked, how come we never got a cool play like that drawn up

Rubio can become the first rookie PG selected to ASG in 30 years! Damn, 30 years! Akeem wasn't there when something like that previously happened in this league

 

Rubio doesn't deserve to be an all star, at least not this year

Like someone said earlier, the Clippers were missing Paul and Butler + Mo Williams was ejected while they still had the lead. You can't win if you have to play Randy Foye and Ryan Gomes 35+ minutes.

Rubio's shooting% are finally dropping, I agree with Billups letting him shoot the three, he's just not a good shooter.

 

I hate that excuse. With Paul, it would change the game entirely. But it doesn't mean they win. Players could have hustled less and played with a lesser sense of urgency. The dynamics of the entire game changes. You just dont simply add Chris Paul's 15 pts and 10 assists and assume they win.

I agree that in basketball anything can happen, but purely theoretically speaking.

No one said that you just add his numbers. It's true that the game changes entirely, but it's a fact that it changes in a good way, with Paul, the Clippers become much better offensively and defensively, there's just no arguing that. Paul doesn't hurt his team in any way so there's really no truth to what you're saying.

Players could have hustled less? Sure, they could have also hustled more.
