Sweet article. There is a lot to be learned from Penny's career. Sounds like a guy with a good head on his shoulders, too.

I remember watching this dude when he first came into the league... amazing talent!! That Orlando team that got to the Finals was awesome.. I still imagine what would have happened if Nick would have made at least one of those freethrows.

Penny was the original TMac, but with determination instead of angst. Similar height, skills, talent, quietness, and sadly, injuries.

I always remember how Penny destroyed Pippen during the '95 playoffs. I can't recall anyone else making Scottie look so foolish on defense.

Remember they opened up that season 1st game against the Lakers. That was Kobe's coming out party where you could SEE Kobe's complete SUPER star skills and that NO FEAR killer instinct. Kobe didnt really have a great shooting percentage against the Rockets, but Pippen was WAY WORSE.

Penny was a great player, too bad Shaq left and he got a lot of injuries, he could've won a championship.

I liked him a lot. and those commercials with Lil' Penny were hilarious.

Anfernee Dion was more of a triple double threat and even more allround player than Tmac was.

Tmac was the more prolific scorer with 30 ppg, Gervin style, whereas Penny's 24.5 ppg was very good but not elite.

you realize that Penny was a POINT GUARD right? if you point guard is averaging 30 points a game, he's not passing much.

When was Penny averaging 25 points a game?

Indeed and had an even shorter peak. Orlando just doesn't keep their stars: Shaq, Hardaway, Hill, McGrady, and soon, Dwight.
