This..ryan broyles would be a top3 wr in this draft if it werent for injury... i have heard reports that he could fall all the way to the fifth...but i hear he will show up at the combine to increase his stock... i wouldnt mind seeing us pick him up in the second rd....
Tommy Streeter (junior declared)from miami 6-5 220 ran 4.40 his sophomore year... If u don't go WR first round. This guy is projected 3 round but after the combine watch him jump. The bad on him is he had wrist injury freshman year his agent is drew rosenhaus
Maybe its part the player and not the trade. Remember, the Falcobs were trying for AJ Green at first, but Cincy declined at the last minute and took Green. That would have been sick for them.
Agree - good value in the 3rd round. He'd complement AJ nicely as a possession receiver who can run the underneath routes. Not sure where the Kendall Wright love comes from - he's fast but mostly runs fly routes - not the possession guy you need to keep the sticks moving. More like a Darrius Heyward Bey type. Jeff Fuller is another big outside receiver that won't complement AJ.
LZ mentioned on the radio this morning Broyles could fall as far as the 5th round. Even if you have to stash the guy on IR for a year and let him heal, I would take flyer on this guy for that kind of value.
AJ Green's postseason lasted just as long as Jones'. The Bengals scored 22 more points this year over last (which is merely 1.4/game) but actually regressed in passing (13th in '10; 20th this year). So... probably the same level of sickness. WRs are just way too easy to contain, if not negate (unless said WR is Calvin Johnson). You don't have to have a super-duper star - the NFL is littered with proof. You need a fast player, preferrably tall, with good hands and discipline who will run precise routes. And a system designed to get them the ball. Those guys are pretty easy to find. Welker and Cruz are both still playing and were undrafted.
it won't be. To move up from 26 to the #3 spot to have a chance to get Blackmon would be way to much and could seriously cripple the texans growth.
If Alshon and Kenny are gone then why not draft Rueben Randle in the second? I think he's the most underrated WR in the draft.
Physically, Randle is solid but he's inconsistent and drops too many passes - underperformed at LSU given he was the #2 recruit in the nation back in '09. LSU wide receivers have been a mixed bag in the NFL - Bowe, Doucet, Clayton, etc.
You very likely have to go #2 to secure Blackmon; I'd be stunned if the Rams didn't have him high on their board.

I seen some mocks taking A.J. as low as 13 and some saying second round because of some "skeletons" that may appear once the combine comes around. More and more mocks have him slipping. And I listened to an interview on ESPN carolina saying some teams think he is more suitable as a TE. This guy is all over the place.
I think this is partly an illusion because of scheme. Few offenses want to rely on one guy like the Lions did with Calvin. The age of the 100 reception WR is going by the wayside with teams going heavy spread or heavy run. Looking at run/pass splits, few teams are at 50:50. If your point is too avoid reaching for a WR in the draft then I agree. But finding the next Welker, Cruz, or Marshall isn't as simple as finding guys who most satisfy your checklist. Because then you're stuck in the Texans' situation, with a revolving door of guys at the bottom, while settling year after year with the 3rd rounder who hasn't been cutting it. I wish we could find out what was lacking with all the guys they've tried: Dickerson, Maehl, Tolliver, Jean is all I can remember right now.
I'm not sure about Dickerson, I really thought he was going to break out this year. he's a stud athletically, and had goodhands. Maehl, small/not physical....goes to the being able to block argument. Tolliver not sure. He was on the IR but was waived for whatever reason. Jean...I wonder if they regret stashing Jean on IR because of all the WR troubles they had. i think he's in good position to make it next year
