Robin Hood 21/100 It made no sense and was so unconnected from one act to the other. big fail- don't bother- Ridley Scott's worst poor excuse for a movie.
The Perfect Host 9/10 Steaming on Netflix. I love me some David Hyde Pierce and this movie showcases his remarkable acting talent.
Johnny English Reborn (2): 6.5/10 Some funny parts, I think the movie is a bit too short but still enjoyable...
My Week with Marilyn- 8 out of 10- I haven't watched too many Marilyn Monroe movies, but Michelle Williams almost bubbles the screen over with charisma. Kenneth Branagh is really good as Laurence Olivier. It's more like the film is built around the performances than the performances are in service to a great film. But well worth seeing anyway! Also it gave me a colossal boner for Michelle Williams.
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo- 8/10. I thought it kind of crawled to the ending, but getting there was great. I could honestly watch a David Fincher movie without sound and still enjoy it just because of the cinematography. MI4- 8/10. Great action, great suspense. You know what your getting into with this movie and you get every bit of it. Just a perfect popcorn movie to be entertained by.
Saw the Warrior a few nights ago...7.75/10 Great movie, Nolte was awesome and Tess was smoking hot...
Bought some movies on bluray (ones iv'e seen, store was closing down so they were cheap) Inception - Forgot how really good that movie was especially in HD. Honestly i would give it a 10 without hesitation! One of my favs alltime. The Bank Job - Very well done! Awesome acting and superb story. 9/10 Kingdom Of Heaven - Id like to say its one of the best war movies out there, however the acting could have been better and just doesn't have the flair other war movies have i suppose. 7.5/10
Hopefully you saw the Director's Cut for Kingdom of Heaven. I recently saw it(DC) for the second time and still blown away by it. I can't believe the first time I saw it in theatre I hated it because I didn't know ****ing Tim Rothman at Fox totally destroy and cut out 40mins of Ridley Scott which I consider one of his masterpiece. I rank it 3rd behind Ridley Scott's Alien and Blade Runner and just ahead of Gladiator. Such a beautiful movie epic movie. 8.7/10 These trailers never cease to impress me everytime I watches them. Just so epic in scale. I still have high hope for Ridley Scott's Prometheus. <iframe width="853" height="480" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/-oO6pCRe3pM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="853" height="480" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Kfq9U2tWWGo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Moneyball - 9 out of 10. Easily the best movie I have seen this year. You really don't need to be a sports or baseball fan to enjoy it, but obviously it helps. Brad Pitt in a very understated role (I could easily see Redford in the role years ago). Jonah Hill even underplays his role and scores. And Phillip Seymour Kaufman in a surprisingly effective performance. Plus, the little girl that plays Beane's daughter was great in a small part. Lots of people compare this to Social Network, perhaps because it takes recent history and an unexpected subject for a movie be so popular.
It actually helps if you are a baseball fan because if you were you would know the way the story is told is pure crap. That team had Zito, Mulder, Hudson, Tejada, and Eric Chavez but all they talked about was freaking Scott Hatteberg. It was ridiculous the way they portrayed that season.
Also the movie completely over played how well their system actually worked. One long streak in the regular season is not a measure of success in any league (no offense to the Rockets).
The first season of Luther is on netflix. A BBC dark cop drama starring Idris Elba (Stringer Bell from the Wire).
