i'm enjoying your smug overconfidence. however, you've made a classic miscalculation: failing to understand what the race is about. i won't tell you of course, but i will say it's not about romney's taxes, mitt's affairs, or any of the other "issues" so dear to the DFM. and it's not really about the economy either, although that does figure, at least peripherally...no, this election is about one thing, and one thing only. Spoiler
Interesting. We agree on something. The current Dem overconfidence reminds me of 2008 when thoughts of a +10% landslide were discussed here. Because of Obama's weakness, the election will almost certainly be close (unless a miracle happens and Newt the Nut beats Romney).
My biggest fear if Paul gets elected president, is his age. The way he is and the way he talks, when he does starting saying gibberish because of his age and going crazy, you probably wouldn't even be able to tell lol
Your political acumen when prognosticating on who'll win elections has been noted in the past. LOL!!!
I'll just say I never thought I would live to see the day conservatives would give the idea of open marriage a standing ovation.
I didn't see the debate, but from TPM's description, Newt was on fire and Romney was mediocre at best. If that's how Republicans interpreted it, and Newt can neutralize the ex-wife interview, this might turn out to be a blowout win by Newt, which will change the entire race.
Newt and Romney are going to beat the hell out of each other. This is going to the convention (and what a convention it'll be!). And no telling what Paul will do with his delegates.
Ron like any politiican plays to his constitunecy. He has to give his rural Texas constituency something. He can't just be againt NASA, the drug war and foreign wars. Hence the anti-abortion stand and the religous thing and his stand on the Civil Rights Act.
Paul did GREAT tonight, and the aftershow of the debate (AC360), Paul gets mentioned at the 50 minute mark of a 60 minute show, his name gets spoken in a statement "Mitt Romney is in it for the long haul and so is Ron Paul" :end Ron Paul discussion: Funny though, CNN poll right now has 9350 votes and Paul leads at 42% Talk about THAT CNN.
sampling the internet about cats is more reliable than sampling it about Ron Paul. Ron Paul supporters have just got way too much time, or way too many computers.
What is really disturbing that his followers are so childishly trusting that they will be taken care of by corporations that they think will play by the innocent rules of their imaginary idealized market without any sort of input by government or democratic voters.
This thread has finally gotten me interested enought to try to watch some of a GOP debate.. Anywhere to catch a recap or a recording of it?
Actually surprised ToyCen doesn't have this site bookmarked. http://www.2012presidentialelectionnews.com/ Has all 78 GOP debates on there.
