    He's not a star in hiding. He's more of a two way glue guy that had a good game because Bud was guarding him. The franchise player in hiding is James Harden. He can create his own shot, he isn't known as a playmaker but he is clutch.

    Yup Harden is who i want but he is not really in hiding....he's worth a lot and i dont think the thunder will give him up for anything less, he's most likely untouchable unless its a trade for a superstar...

    - b/w the two,, harden all day though

    I watch Batum a lot since I live in Portland. Defensively he's a stud and he has all the attributes to be a lockdown defender and great help defender. Offensively he will have some good nights but he can also struggle especially when his confidence isn't good. The reason why he has stretches where he struggles offensively is because he lacks good handles so it's difficult for him to get an easy bucket to help himself get going and he's not very good at creating his own shot. It's the missing ingredient in his game that's keeping him from being a star.

    I liken him to a Trevor Ariza with much better basketball IQ.

    With that said Portland will ask A LOT in return for Batum. I guarantee you that for sure.

    The enviable position we're in is that Batum will be a Restricted FA and Gerald Wallace will probably opt out of his last year, thus making it easier for Portland to sign him to a long-term contract (unless someone has a better offer on the table). I think the chances of Portland offering Wallace a 4-yr ~$40-50Mill contract and matching our offer for Batum (if we decide to offer something for him) are pretty slim. We could potentially pick up either one of those two, but my money says that Portland will be more likely to pour money into keeping Wallace than Batum.

    Hey OP, aren't you the same guy who said that Gortat is a better player than Marc Gasol? That tells us all we need to know about your basketball knowledge, lol, smh.

    Considering the contracts, I would absolutely take Gortat over Gasol right now...

    Nice "OHMMS post" though, Kwame... :grin:

    Marcin Gortat's per 36's are still killing Marc Gasol's... 17-11-2, compared to Marc's 14-10-2... Marc just plays a butt load of minutes...

    Marc Gasol
    PER=20.7
    12 million

    Marcin Gortat
    PER=22.3
    6 million

    Kwame?
    Why don't you back up your posts with some knowledge and information?

    (Oh, and Marcin Gortat has played half the year with a broken thumb, which he just recently healed from...)

    No need to be rude, dude.

    You're the guy who called me a bonafide Lowry hater and then when I asked for evidence and information indicating that, you ran away from the thread.

    It's awesome that you have to use abstract numbers in order to justify a ridiculous position, especially when I see the impact that Gasol has on the game, which is much more than Gortat. Sorry PER, just like any other single stat, doesn't measure the total impact of a player on the court, which is why the Haitian Sensation has a higher per than Bynum. Most of us, maybe not you judging from your posts above, know who the superior player is between Dalembert and Andrew. That alone shows the shortcomings and limitations of PER. It certainly doesn't measure a player's overall worth and value. Back to Macin, Morey wouldn't even pay full the mle for Gortat iirc, lol. There's a reason Marc plays more mins than Gasol...he's a better player. Keep digging yourself a deeper hole by claiming that Gortat is better, lol. That's your problem...you get emotional, make ridiculous claims, and then when people call you out on it, your internet pride won't allow you to admit that you're wrong. Thus, you search and scour for anything to justify your stupid positions. It's pure comedy. But I guess you don't really believe what you're saying since your first argument was that "considering contracts he's a better player." Thanks for the laughs as usual.

    Then you have Scola carry the scoring load? No thanks. Maybe trade Bud and Twill and let him play next to Martin

    I think I mixed you up with Ronny that time, but I don't quite remember. For that, I sincerely apologize.

    Like I have said from the very beginning, I think the difference between Gasol and a healthy Gortat is negligible when you consider impact and contract. I have said that from the very beginning, and I stand by it 100%. There are several stats that give creedence to this, both this and last year. The fact that Memphis has a zero as their backup C inflates Gasol's numbers, and the fact that Robin Lopez is good for 15 minutes of fouls, combined with Gortat's early thumb injury, decreases some of his. Per minute, Gortat has always been more productive statistically. What you make of that, is entirely up to you, obviously.

    I strongly disagree with you that Daryl Morey wouldn't pay the MLE now that he sees the player Gortat has become in significant minutes.

    I also don't appreciate the "stupid" remarks, but whatever floats your boat dude. I'm not sure I take posting on Clutchfans as seriously as you do.

    As far as Dalembert's PER is concerned, it is well earned. If he consistently played like he has this year, I am sure he WOULD be viewed as a superior C to Andrew Bynum. Obviously this won't continue. (Hopefully it does though!)

    How did we go from talking about Batum to Marc Gasol, Gortat and Dalembert?

    Samuel Dalembert could give Moses Malone a run for his money at this point...

    Put on your sarcasm detectors please... Jeez... :grin:
