The Nets are trying to trade for OJ Mayo by giving up Anthony Morrow. Why don't we trade Kevin Martin ( If he does not continue to play good ) and put a 2nd round pick. Kevin Martin is better than Anthony Morrow. Any thoughts?

Sounds like a bad move for us. KMart is a better player and the age difference isn't enough to make it any more than just a straight downgrade at the position for us. Now, if it was an unprotected 1st they were throwing into that trade, I would not mind at all, but second round picks are not worth much, especially when you can buy them for cash during drafts.

    Possible actions

-Scola and Bud for Humphris (exp. contract) and Brooks

It could help bring Dwight to the Nets via free agency or trade.
(this is assuming the nets get Mayo for Morrow)

-Lee, Hill, and a 2014 1st rd pick (lottery-protected) for Asik

They are going to most likely lose Asik anyway after this season. Might as well get some return on him. They need cap space as well.

    -Sign Greg Smith.

    Lowry/ Dragic
    Martin/ Brooks
Parsons/ T-will (or Morris if he's called up)
    Patterson/ Humphris/ Smith
    Dalembert/ Asik

This puts us in good position moving forward. The 09 busts' contracts will expire (approx 13.8 mil cap space), Humphris' expiring (8 mil), Dragic's (2 mil), and Dalembert's team option (I'm sure it will be picked up though). The 2012 FA class will be insanely good.

Brooks would make Martin expendable. I would prefer to keep lee and just take a shot at Asik in the offseason. But I would love to have Brooks.

Rockets in= J. Oneal and the lower of Bostons 2 first rounders
    Celtics in= J.Hill, Dragic,and Bud

Celtics window is closing fast. They are not even in the playoffs thus far. These three guys give them scorers and rotation guys. Rockets get Oneals contract off the book. and another possible lotto pick.

Trade Flynn instead of Dragic. Flynn is useless in Rockets bench and wasting his playing time

we cant give them all crap.they could use Dragic since Rondo might be out for a while after the foul tonight. Hill Garnett Pierce Allen Dragic, and Bud comes in once Allen or Pierce need a break. I think its a win win for both teams. Dragic is a UFA once the year is over.

I think you undervalue Brooks and especially Humphries, no way they give these guys up just for Scola+Bud.

I think Bud and Hill might look good with the Bobcats under Silas. They both need consistent time without pressure. Throw in Thabeet as expiring and lets get !!Diaw!!

Bud might really shine in Charlotte.

Morrow is no difference maker..... Kevin Martin has been one offensively with the Kings when he scored 50.

I like this trade ric flair (whoooooooo!).

I think Boston might actually do this (Bud and Dragic are exactly what they need right now with Rondo down and Green no longer in their plans). Also, I think this is exactly the sort of trade Houston should be trying to make: Not only do they get an extra 1st rounder next season, but the deal would also allow them to give some minutes to Morris at the SF and to increase Lee's minutes at the 3 and the 1. Plus, O'Neal over Hill would definitely upgrade our bench at the 4 and 5, and I am partial to any trade that will allow me to never have to watch Jordan Hill's jumpshot and post game ever again.

I'd hate to lose Dragic, but, as you said, we'd have to give them something besides just Chase, and they need (and would thus value) Dragic more than we do. Plus, perhaps Morey has a guy like Lin in mind who could replace Dragic (and save us all from 10 minutes of Flynn a night...eeek!).

What if we take some protection off of our owed pick for him? Could that get it done?

They wouldn't do it for Flynn. We could trade a future 2nd rd (top-55 protected) for Lin or just pick Ish backup. Dragic was leaving after this year anyway.

Because Flynn is turrible.... They need a player or two if they are going to give up a possible top 10 pick. They are looking to win not take on expiring deals that wont touch the court.

now that the Thunder stupidly signed Westbrook to that huge extension, does that make Harden more available?
