Not to mention the rise in insurance costs for a few years.

WHY ARE YOU GETTING A LAWYER WHEN THE LAWYER WILL GET YOU THE SAME DEAL YOU CAN GET YOURSELF!!!

GEEZ THIS REALLY IRKS ME FOR SOME REASON..

I'm not sure why this bothers me so much but it does.
Are you really interested in leaving the court at 930 AM instead of 1PM?

The lawyer will take your money not even look at your case until morning of.. then play the game of 'oh yeah I just golfed with the DA' or 'Im banging the DA' etc then proceed to get you the deferred adjudication that you would have gotten anyway. For grins tell the lawyer you want to take it to trial and you will see more backtracking than DD on his budginer,AB ,jordan hill predictions..

His classic go to move will then be 'do you really want to take it to trial the judge is in a bad mood' It's a playbook to scare you.

Go ahead and feed the machine (lawyer in cahoots with county) and keep them busy. pay the machine.

Just remind yourself that the lawyer really cares about you and really wants to stay there and defend you. BS he wants your money and could give 2 sh!ts about your case or anything else. Rubber stamp churn and burn baby.

Yes. Just like if you are the only one on the road, you are required to stop at stop signs and red lights, obey the speed limit and drive on the correct side of the road.

One time a cop pulled me over for saying i was following behind a car too close...10 miles back, then he searched my car after calling in 4 more cops and i asked him why he was searching my car and he told me he was searching my car bc my carotid artery was overactive...no joke...then he proceeded to tell me that they got my friends in the el camino 10 miles up the road...im sitting there like :confused::confused:

Moral of the story, cops are assholes and do r****ded things, sounds like you were in the wrong though, i would still fight it anyway bc cops are morons.

I did stop. the worst thing was the cop was like 200 yards away from me so he must be guessing.

My favorite part about ticket threads are the:

"I was speeding but he couldn't have known that!"
"I was going with the flow of traffic-10 miles over the limit!"
"Yeah I was speeding, but only because I didn't know that cop was hiding there!"

or any other example of what amounts to actually breaking the law followed by trashing police officers and calling them names because you got caught.

Well if a cop pulls you over for not signaling it turns out you weren't the only one on the road huh?

Perhaps if you didn't know the cop that pulled you over for not signaling was on the road in a position to pull you over you didn't realize there was another car on the road as well.

Well, if the cop that pulled you over would signal, maybe the person getting a ticket for not signalung would signal? But come on people, its really not hard to hit the lever and signal. It's tough to stretch out your index finger and hit it, I know...

Touche. But this is the opposite to the other reaction: is it really morally justifiable for police to be taking people's hard earned money for arbitrary mistakes that, statistically, won't disturb society whatsoever?

Generally speaking I respect authority and I'm grateful for those cops who put their lives on the line for public safety. But, to put it gracefully: traffic cops can suck on my testicles.

I've never defended the morality of traffic violations (though I would argue that following too closely in particular actually does disturb society as it is a huge contributor to accidents) costing people money. That is however the law. People who willfully violate the law and then get enraged at police and call them all sorts of insults are a mystery to me.

I understand the black guy who gets pulled over for driving in the wrong neighborhood thinking police are scum. The guy who gets pulled over for going 20 miles over the speed limit? Following so close he has to swerve lanes to avoid an accident? That I can't get behind.

It's also kind of funny how many "traffic pet peeve" threads pop up, but then when people get ticketed for doing all the things listed in the pet peeve threads, they go all NWA against the police.

"I hate it when people don't have the common courtesy to signal!!!!!!!111"

    "I can't believe I got a ticket for not signalling!!!!!1111"
