I don't think that many people were under the impression that diabetes is a death sentence.

I like Bourdain, had no idea they'd been feuding, didn't know the world of celebrity chefs was so salty....

Anthony Bourdain Slams Paula Deen After Diabetes Announcement

    No reservations is right.

Anthony Bourdain isn't done criticizing Paula Deen. The celeb chef and No Reservations star, who has bashed Deen's calorie-bomb recipes in the past, made an obvious dig at the Food Network star on Twitter Tuesday.

Shortly after Deen, 64, confirmed she has type 2 diabetes, Bourdain wrote, "Thinking of getting into the leg-breaking business, so I can profitably sell crutches later." A bit later, Bourdain shot down a headline provided by TMZ regarding the feud: "For the record: Never called anybody a 'diabetic scam artist.' TMZ's words. Not mine."

On The Today Show Tuesday, Deen -- famous for her cooking up sugary, fatty, deep-fried Southern concoctions on her TV shows and in cookbooks -- revealed that she was diagnosed with the disease three years ago, and is now a paid spokesperson for Novo Nordisk, which treats the disease.

Bourdain has blasted Deen in the past as the "most dangerous person to America" who is "proud of the fact that her food is f---ing bad for you."

Deen retorted at the time that Bourdain should "get a life."

Feud is silly, but Deen withholding the diagnosis for three years and then revealing it to coincide with a paid position at a medical company that treats the disease is congressional level duplicity.

It's not Paula Dean's responsibility to prevent you from getting diabetes. and if you want to live her lifestyle of fried chicken, german chocolate cake, and drugs...well, that's on you too.

that's what i was thinking. all these people are blaming her for hiding her health condition when you can obviously look at what she is cooking and determine if you want to eat it. it's not like ten year olds are making her recipes. if you can't look at it and say "i don't want to eat it because it's fried and bad for you", then you are either really gullible thinking it's going to be good for you because Paula is making it (and as far as you knew...she wasn't Type II before) or you are just plain as stupid as they come. did paula ever say she had a healthy cooking show? no, she is fat and she makes fattening meals. end of story.

"try my chicken fried steak ya'll...it's so good for you (NOT). follow that up with my dessert of chocolate cheesecake."

    right...

I don't see what the problem with Paula Deen is. If someone wants to eat her food, then eat it. I hope no one was under the assumption that her recipes were of the diet variety.

Also butter can be a very healthy source of good fat, I wouldn't blame it on that.
