Although I think Kobe is immensely overrated due to the fact that his championship teams have been loaded, I can dig it!!!.... He is great in a sense but... Jordan is immortal in terms of b-ball... For Jordan to even say ... World must be really comin to an end... But I think Jordan gave a "might as well" kind of answer.... He probably was like "well if i had to choose some damn body, it's what's his face in that Laker uni.." lol

great point....Jordan's pull up was quick and smooth.... Kobe's seems forced ...although it's unbelievable he makes some of those shots...I don't think Jordan faded away as far as Kobe to get those shots off...nor did he have to either...

Kobe is a first ballot Hall of Famer and the second best shooting guard in Lakers history.... however, he is not close to MJ.

Kobe is great no doubt but I wouldn't compare him to Jordan, possibly in the way they play the game but not on making people around him better. Not enough people criticize his Lakers teams between the Shaq era and the Pau Gasol era. They didn't do jack during those times because he cant' do it without another elite caliber player around him. Sure Scottie Pippen is a great player too but I really don't think he would have been the main star player on another team. Pau and Shaq on the other hand were regarded as the top players on other teams.

Any talent evaluation by Michael Jordan must be taken with a massive grain of salt. *cough* Kwame

Why do we still take Jordan's talent evaluation seriously? He's terrible.

Pippen was one of the best players in the world in the 90s, dude had everything. He was regarded as one of the best players in the NBA and on the Dream Team.

Who's the best? Only one close is Jerry West, and Kobe clearly beats him in a lot of categories and achievements.

In fact most LA fans (young and old) agree that when it's all said and done Kobe gets the nod over Magic.

Second greatest player of all time....probably not. But best Laker and second best SG behind Jordan? Anything less makes me suspect your objectivity as a fan

Jordan was an identical player to Kobe after he hit his 30's. Style wise. Jordan relied more on his jumper later in his career. In my opinion, and I think Jordan>Kobe, the only thing that separated them was Jordan's ability to finish at the rim. Where Kobe goes to the line for 2 shots, MJ went for 1.

MJ had LBJ's ability to finish at the rim coupled with Kobe's basketball IQ, will, and skill. I'm not saying Kobe is as mentally tough as MJ, but he is as close as there has been. When oposing crowds boo Kobe, or oposing players trash talk Kobe, he lights them up on demand. I haven't seen a player since MJ that oposing crowds were afraid to boo. You literally hear fans saying to one another, "Don't make him mad". Or opposing players afraid to look him in the eye or trash talk back. That's how it was with MJ too.

IIRC, Jordan never made the finals before he was 28... let alone twice.

Oh good. Kobe' mom showed up. It's not that I disagree with what you say, I just don't like your Kobe fanboyism.

Why are people ALWAYS bringin the ring sh.t up? It's the most stupid point ever and has no relation to the key argument. Barkley, Reggie, Stockalone had none, Adam Morrison and Vujacic got two. So Adam will go down as a better player, right?

Robert Horry is one of the best players of all time by the ring logic you guys keep bringing up, right......

If your team is complete trash and you're loyal to your franchise you'll never get a ring.

I would contribute all of that to Jordan's hands, dude had big, soft hands, Kobe doesn't have those kind of hands, which is why a lot of his shooting seems forced, he can't grip the ball as well as Jordan.

I could care less about Kobe, but how he's playing through his hand injury deserves praise. He's a competitor just like MJ. If Lebron had the same injury he would be glad to use it as an excuse.

Jordan's championship teams were also loaded.

That said, Kobe wasn't even the best player on his team for the Lakers 3 peat.. so yeah, valid criticism.
