I just booked my flight. Staying there for a couple of days by myself. I wanted to stay close to the middle of the strip but the price I paid for 6 nights was way too good to pass up, so I'm staying at the Rivera. Where are some places for cheap gambling that is not outside of the strip. Where can I find cheap eats. Whens the best time to see hookers at the strip? I was looking at the net and read that the safest bet is to look for a hooker in a casino bar. Have anyone notice hookers in the casino? Is it cheaper to rent a car then take the taxi?
The only thing I'll say is: be sure to get lots of hooker cards. Because they're hilarious. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/YdEZJjY9NDk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> But I'm really not a Vegas guy myself, though. To me it's just a big concrete pit in the desert with lots of flashing lights and hookers and gambling. Fine if you're into that sort of thing, I guess. I just don't really get the mystique of it.
The cheapest places to gamble are usually off the strip, as you know, so I don't know what else to say haha. I did, however, go to the Monte Carlo for 3 straight nights just to play poker, since there seemed to be a ton of nits when I went. Hope that somehow helps. My girlfriend and I went to a lot of the fancier restaurants, some of which have deals on groupon and such, so I'm not too sure about cheap eats. If you don't want to break bank, stay with the Riviera's buffet, athough it'll get to you after a while. Check out those savings sites! Have fun, brah!
Upgrade to not stay at the Riviera. It's like...I can't even think of a comparison...it's just too far away.
why the hell are you staying at the riviera? if you go cheapo, go luxor or monte carlo or Bill's http://www.billslasvegas.com/ cab it. and tell the taxi driver "NO TUNNEL"
I've gone 4 years running, at the Riviera you MUST rent a car, you're not located next to any other resort, taxi will be +$10 one-way to the middle of the strip where everything is. I can't stress this enough, parking is free everywhere, you have to have to have to get a car. I only played poker and bet on some sports, 1/2nl is the standard low anywhere on or off the strip. Or 3/6 limit. You can find penny slots at every casino, even Caesars and Bellagio, so if slots if your thing, you can find what you're looking for anywhere. Slots of Fun next to Circus Circus runs .50 roulette, but I don't know if its strictly weekdays or what. Blackjack is about $5 a hand on the strip and you can find $3 off but I don't know where. As far as eats, if you want to try a cheap buffet, hit up a Stations Casino. Luxor and Excaliber are on the cheaper side if you stay on the strip, and it goes to $30-$50 per person in places like MGM and Caesars, definitely NOT worth it in my opinion. There are a lot of Panda Express on the strip and around it, almost odd really. Best place to come across a hooker on the strip in on the south end between 3 and 5. Any other questions feel free to ask, I've been to every resort on the strip and several off.
It's better in that it's a nicer and cleaner resort, but it's even more surrounded by absolutely nothing within walking distance.
I'm assuming the OP wants to go cheapo and is pretty young. I'm old and like nicer places now. but if I was to go cheapo, it wouldn't be the riviera . bill's gambling hall use to be barbary coast. great location and the victorian cafe is good. also staying off strip ain't bad, most casino's have shuttles to the strip. i like the hard rock, they might have a good deal there since it's not rehab season.
We stayed at the Imperial, which was the lowest price on the strip that we could get. Didn't do much gambling, but I'd recommend taking in a Cirque du Soliel show. We saw "O" and it was amazing.
If you want to stay some place cheap, go to Imperial Palace, Luxor, or one of the other low end strip hotels. The key is location. If your hotel is in a good location, you don't need any transportation at all, except for the airport transfers. The Riviera and the Stratosphere are terrible locations, not in easy walking distance of either. Also, the crowds will be terrible. You want to stay down where you can go to Planet Hollywood or catch a cab to the Hard Rock to see good looking people your age. If you REALLY want to get a car, that is fine, but I bet you don't use it much. If you do use one, make sure to take advantage of the valet service at all the hotels. It is free at every hotel, costing you only a couple bucks in tip. Also: be prepared to tip. Vegas runs on tips.
Imperial Palace or Bills is going to be your best bet for something right on the strip that's cheap, Riveria is way too far.
