If the Bucks throw in a 2012 2nd rd pick, its a deal.

we essentially would be picking him up as an expiring contract...with also having the inside track to re-signing him if dwight gets traded to l.a....

im also including 2 2nd rd picks with that trade and the option of sending t.will.... i respect mcgee as a player and think he will get somewhere in the 7-10mil a year in free agency...

of course someone could get desperate and overpay him... happens all the time...

I think that the OKC situation with Westbrook is intriguing. I was thinking about two small trades that could not only help build the team this year but also set us up for next year.
Trade Dragic, Lee, Morris '12 1st(via NYC) to OKC for Harden, Ivey
Trade Williams, Hill to BOS for O'Neal, '12 1st(via LAC)

    Lowry, Flynn, Ivey
    Martin, Harden
    Parsons, Budinger
    Scola, Patterson, Adrien
    Dalembert, O'Neal, Thabeet

Dragic helps at PG with Maynor out, Lee defense off the bench, Morris can give spot minutes at SF/PF and keeps them in win now mode.
Williams and Hill help BOS get younger and athletic will giving up O'Neal's expiring contract since their off to such a terrible start.
Harden gives us someone that can create for himself and others off the bench paired with Patterson, O'Neal gives us more defense in the frontcourt.

Well if OKC feels they are close they have James Harden or possibly Westbrook in the talks. We could send them Martin, Scola, Morris, and first round draft pick for Westbrook. I think him and Lowry could hold down both point guard and Shooting guard spots as interchangeable parts. Makes defense even easier in transition. The lineup would look like this.

    Dalembert
    Patterson
    Parsons
    Westbrook
    Lowry

Can we stop with the Westbrook Harden trades. You know none of that is happening. You're wasting bandwith.

Could be true. Its not like there arent rumors of team chemistry problems. Also the fact they are close and may need one more or two more pieces. We fit that need more than any other team. After all people do say a team close may need our veterans to push them over the top. So now there are a few teams who like OKC just might use the Rockets for that.

It's more of a reality than you think. Westbrook wants a huge extension and Harden might want one as (well not as huge) along with Ibaka. They have Durant on the max, so somebody will have to go unless they take a big pay cut.

To Washington: Thabeet + 2nd Round Pick
    To Houston: Turiaf

Turiaf = great energy guy and good passer.

I think they let WB go before Harden. Anyway if WB gets traded the Thunder will get something nice in return. And by nice I don't mean Dragic+picks lol.

Anyway one thing I just thought of is why doesn't OKC trade for DH? Perkins+Ibaka+WB is better than Bynum and Gasol.

Turiaf would be awesome as a backup C/PF. I dunno if Wiz will bite though, Thabeet's like 5M of empty space.

But they are tanking.... what's Turiaf gonna do for them? Take the team from a 9 win team to a 12 win team?

But from their perspective why will they pay 5M when they don't want to? Going from 9-12 wins won't hurt their draft position, and their record won't be as bad.

They are paying about $4.5 mil to Turiaf anyway, so the $ difference is minimal. The incentive really is to get an extra 2nd round pick for a guy that they don't really need and isn't in their plans. Besides, Thabeet might pan out.

This trade does make some sense for both sides. Rockets net a serviceable C with an expiring, and the Wizards get a 2nd rd pick and a scrub with an expiring. I'd do it if I was either GM.

I think Harden or Westbrook could become a possibility down the road. Maybe if they flunk out of the playoffs.

Budinger+Hill+Dragic to SAC for Jason Thompson

I like Dragic, but this gives Lee more minutes at the backup point and can get Williams in the rotation as well. Just trying to figure out ways to go 3 or even 4 for one while getting a young asset in return.

    Another thought:

    Terrence Williams to Detroit
    Austin Daye to Houston

Basically, a swap of class of 2009 guys who have fallen out of the rotation.

Williams actually played a ton of somewhat productive minutes as a rookie for Lawrence Frank (during his 0-16 final stint in NJ, but still, maybe Frank can figure out what to make of the guy).

On the other hand, after a somewhat productive 2nd season (20 mpg), Daye has really fallen out of favor. He's also shooting 20% from the field, and 0% from the 3 pt line.

I saw Daye play on Lowry's team in Las Vegas (during the summer "lockout league" at Joe Abunasser's gym). Daye was doing really well in these games-- great height (was playing some PF due to a lack of bigs there), good shooting touch, smart high-character guy, too. Maybe you can play him some as a "spread 4." Not that he's necessarily better than Williams, but since neither guy is in their team's rotation, trying a "change of scenary" may not be a bad idea.

I'd do this trade and wish for the best. Daye would probaly get a few minutes here and there.
