Agreed. They were awesome. If GP hadn't been such a dick that time he and CWebb filled in for Chuck on TNT I think that duo would still be around.

I find Kenny Smith the most annoying. He tries too hard.

I dont know how many times he interrupts someone thinking he has a great insight and then once he starts talking its a complete train wreck.

Payton and Webber were best ever. Shaq is kind of moronic.

They are all terrible, it used be way more serious with just EJ who had a guest at half-time which could be ranging from a rookie doing well to a retired veteran. National tv commentary is terrible, Hubie Brown and Kevin Harlan the only exception. The NBA has turned into a charade, like Hollywood with the All-star weekend being the worst (dunk contest) and players leaving their teams like crazy.

It's much less about quality basketball and true talent, anybody could play in today's NBA. It's all about highlights and letting the big players get away with everything so stats will look good. NBA has always been a joke, being called world championships come to mind, but it has gone way downhill since the 2000s. Contact sport: gone, loyalty: gone, emotions during games: gone, objective commentary: gone, objective refereeing: almost gone.

got pretty tired of the whole charade last night. especially shaq constantly talking about how great he is.
would be so much better if shaq just popped in every now and then, like cwebb used to do.

so sick of all the forced shaq bits that arent even funny.

Shaq and Barkley are actually pretty funny together. When they were showing the Kevin Martin highlights they started singing MJ... "Wanna be startin something" with their own twist.

Wanna be Martin somethin... U Gotta be Martin somethin so u wanna be Martin somethin.

    Good stuff.

Dwight has grown tired of Shaq's act :p

[rquoter]The Los Angeles Lakers are in Orlando to face the Magic for a nationally-televised game on Friday night, and the future Hall of Fame center who bolted Disney World for Disney Land back in the 1990s is stirring things up between his two former teams.

TNT commentator Shaquille O'Neal said recently that Lakers center Andrew Bynum -- and not Magic center Dwight Howard -- is the "best big man" in the NBA.

"Andrew Bynum is a true big man," O'Neal said. "He can back you down, jump hook. Dwight Howard has one or two moves on the block. His one move is the running jump hook and the other move is a pick and roll and get inside. Andrew Bynum has the right jump hook and the left jump hook."

O'Neal and Howard have had an ongoing back-and-forth for some time now, and Howard responded to the criticism in comments made to reporters and posted to NBA.com on Friday morning.

"He's mad about Superman," Howard said, in reference to a nickname once used by O'Neal and co-opted by Howard for the 2008 Slam Dunk Contest. "I didn't know he made it up. I didn't know Superman came from Shaquille O'Neal... He's still mad about it. I would suggest he just sit down and get on with his life. He don't play no more so what's the point of talking trash. It's not like we're wrestlers and we can battle it out. Who cares?"

Barkley called out O'Neal for picking Bynum over O'Neal based on the "Superman" nickname beef.

"That ain't got nothing to do with it," O'Neal claimed.[/rquoter]

Shaq is not wrong for saying that.

You guys have to understand that in Shaq's mind, a true dominant C has to be capable of putting up a 25 to 30 ppg season. Dwight hasn't been able to put up more than 22ppg thus far.

Can Bynum do it? I don't think so. But it's not ridiculous to say Bynum has a better chance than Howard at becoming dominant on both ends of the court.

This is correct. Shaq really was a big #$*( swinger especially in his prime. He would destroy Bynum or Howard or any other big man in todays game.

He's actually pretty funny and humble for being as big and dominant as he was.

To say Andrew Bynum has a better chance being more dominant on any end of the floor over Dwight Howard is just about the most ridiculous thing I have read on this site.
