I'm posting this here instead of Hangout since it will probably end up here anyway. This is funny because it is so true having heard many of these comments. Obviously NSFW for language <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/WpyPnrz_PkM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
It's evident that racism towards Asians, especially Asian men, is much more "accepted" than racism towards other ethnic groups. But...that guy in the video was incredibly annoying.
Neg rep. I thought there would be hot Asian chicks on that video. rj: Funny enough. I get some of the same comments from Oregonians when my Texas accent/vernacular seeps through.
can somebody provide cliffs? don't want to watch the video neg rep for hating on white people what about Reggie White? Said that a Japanese person can turn a television into a watch.
While traveling I met a Swiss guy who kept on calling me "Jackie Chan." I asked him where he was from and he said "Zurich" so I asked him if he could make me a cuckoo clock and some chocolate.
He probably thought you were me and said "Jackie Chiles". Swiss people have a strong accent. As a sidenote, two different black girls asked me if I am Latin .
no offense Judoka....but you've really let yourself go since you posted that texas ribs video. Lose the wig...get back to the gym...and stop mumbling.
The one thing I will say is that Asian people are the only ones that I know that get annoyed by "positive" stereotypes. I haven't seen black guys say " argh, I actually don't have a large penis and I'm not a good athlete!" or white guys cry out "my credit is awful!" However, I have heard Asian guys get upset about jokes involving them being exceptionally intelligent or great at martial arts.
A few of those actually happened to me I was at community park with my son and a lady apparently was upset about what my son doing and wanted to tell me about it. So there she came with a slight Hispanic accent first asked me "Do you speak English". I told her I believe that they taught me a few English words at law school. I was once handed a check over $300 bucks at a law school mixer because the student organizer mistook me as the delivery guy for the Chinese food they ordered.
Well, stereotyping is just generalization. A correct generalization doesn't mean holds true to everybody. Why an Asian gets asked where you from or where you are really from a lot, even those 2nd or 3rd generations. OTOH, a recent immigrant from east Europe probably doesn't get asked that question very much.
