You dummies cant even put together a scenario where we get a top 10 pick for Luis Scola and Kevin Martin who are way better than Shane Battier. What makes you think giving away a number 8 pick in the draft regardless of who we drafted for Shane Battier was good? You wont ever see the Rockets get a top pick for that type of player, ever in you life.

Ok here is the deal. I tell you what. Bring back a trade where we get this years or next years number 8 pick for a guy of similar worth as Shane Battier from the Rockets roster and another team would accept it. Do that and you can come back and say this deal was not dumb.

Show me a team with two star players like Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming that gets the #8 pick in the draft, and I'll show you a team the Rockets can trade Kevin Martin or Luis Scola to for said pick.

The #1 pick in this past year's draft was traded for Mo Williams. The #7 pick was traded for John Salmons.

According to Clutchfans posters we shouldnt even try. They say Scola and Martin for a top pick cant happen. I would trade them both for a top pick and start over but according to them we cant do that.

If a team that is close to being a contender suffers through a horrific, injury-riddled season and therefore have a top 10 lottery pick -- they may very well prefer acquiring Scola and/or Martin for their pick. Its uncommon to see that sort of trade, because almost every team with a lottery pick is in rebuild mode, not win-now mode.

We traded rookie Richard Jefferson and two low first rounders for the #7 pick a while back. Do you think New Jersey made a bad trade?

As a grizzlies fan, we have never had an 11 page thread about why the grizzlies traded battier.

Also, if the grizzlies wanted kyle all we'd have to do is dangle Rudy and Morey ship kyle out so fast his head would spin.

Lowry is a decent guard, but some of yall are acting like he is a step below a superstar and he isn't. He isn't even really a star. He might be a Chauncey Billups type of player when it is said and done.

The better argument is if Lowry is better than Conley. And if the truth be told, most grizzlies fans wouldn't trade Conley for Lowry either, and I know for a fact that Hollins wouldn't do it.

Is there even a Grizzlies fan board on which to have threads?

So, that's 11 out of 20 of your fans, plus Hollins.

No way. Even if the Rockets thought Gay was a better player (and I don't think they do), they wouldn't believe Gay's abilities are worth his contract.

Could you get on to the most popular Grizzlies fan board, and create a poll: Would you switch out Conley for Lowry, straight up? I would actually be really interested in the results.

There is a 5 page thread on Rudy on the memphis boards arguing whether he sucks.

And of course the Grizzlies wouldnt want Battier. They were rebuilding and needed young guys with upside. They could use a Battier style player now though.

Lowry is the unquestionably better player on the more favorable contract.

There would be exactly one vote against it.

Not exactly. We traded three #1 picks (13-Jefferson, 18-Jason Collins and 23-Brandon Armstrong). The picks were made FOR New Jersey by us.

Aren't we overlooking the fact that these teams don't know when the picks are going to fall when they make these "future" trades?

.... also, wasn't a big consideration of the Battier trade to get out from under the Stromile Swift contract?

This is coming from the same guy who said Rudy Gay's about to show the world that he's on Durant's level.

That quote indicates you're around people that talk with Hollins...Now if I recall the "Gay is on KD's level" thread and see how Hollins overpayed the sh#t outta Rudy on his contract...is it possible that we have Hollins on this board, under the name "what"? It all damn makes sense now.

Anybody who watches the grizzlies knows that the comment I made about hollins was on the money. The reason the rockets were given (and it was given) Kyle was because every pg that could compete with Conley for the starting job has been shipped off.

Conley is Hollins type of pg. Kyle is not. Period.

But seriously I'm glad he's working out for yall, but I for one aren't really that heartbroken that we don't have him. We don't need him and I like what Conley brings to the table.

What is a "Hollins type of PG"?
