We actually have a chance to win 11 in a row, including the ones we have already won (3). We play some not so great teams at home, only tough one i see at home is SA, but we already beat them once. The only other tough game is at Minni., but it is really possible to win 11 in a row if we keep playing the way we have. Dalembert has been a great addition, I have always been Gung Ho to the signing even before we brought him on board. The problem I see that we may run into, is our bench tends to give up the lead at times. Budinger isn't the same guy, he goes through the motions and makes open shots at times. Dragic is turn over prone, and Jordan, well is Jekyl and Hyde. Time has to be given to Terrance, at least until C. Lee gets back. But I do see us winning 11 in a row.
These next 8 games are goign to be kind of misleading in terms of measuring output and performance. Dont forget this is exactly what happened last season. We sucked hard at the start - then had a really easy month in Jan against even crapper teams in and everyone over reacted because we won. Everyone thought we were all that. But right after that when we started playing good teams again - we sucked again. It took us like 30 -40 games or so for us to find our groove. So we shouldnt get too excited if it looks as if the team is playing really well the next 8 games.
So basically in the end, we wont be good enough to make the playoffs, and we wont be bad enough to get lottery in the draft.....
They will lose some of these games guys, trust me, there is going to be a few nights where the terrible teams will come out to play and we let our gaurd down. Anyway in the end it leads to a medicore record and 1 and out playoff appareance if at all. With that being said, I root for them to win every game. I know being stuck at # 14 pick every draft sucks but as a fan, I just don't have it in me to look 3 years ahead and hope we become contenders through drafting, I want to see good competitive basketball now. Even if that means not making the playoffs.
I know we have Morey and all but since when did getting a high draft pick absolutely guarantee success? Our bench = evidence of such.
Wait... I didn't see this earlier. Why would we trade Parsons for Roy? I mean Roy was good back in the day, but he's retired now. Us trading a potential rookie of the year for Roy just seems dumb. I mean come on.
I like how our starters part so well against the other team's starters, especially bad teams. That kind of consistency hasn't been seen since 05-06.
Our bench is evidence that other GM's suck. The New York Knicks, who needed a PG, took Jordan Hill over Brandon Jennings, Jrue Holiday, and Ty Lawson. The Memphis Grizzles, who have a track record of horrible drafting, took a gamble on Hasheem Thabeet with the #2 pick in the draft. The Minnesota Timberwolves took 3 PG's in the 1st round and traded the best one (Lawson, lol) and kept Johnny Flynn and the rights to Rubio instead.
we have a brutal road stretch coming later, should even out with this easy stretch. Bottom line, we need to beat a few good (elite) teams.
Right now, our center, and SF positions are solid than last year. A chance for a playoff is getting high. I say, let try to make the playoff.
We have beaten the Spurs, Hawks, and Trailblazers. We blew the game against OKC. This team can compete with anyone at home.
