I've tried them in the Dallas area. They're just another burger shop trying to mimic what In N Out does. They have a "secret sauce" that's just Thousand Island dressing. I didn't think it was bad, but it wasn't anything to die for. Check this out : http://donnacooks.wordpress.com/2007/10/12/to-emulate-or-not-to-emulate-mooyah-burgers-fries/

Try them, though. You may like it.

My favorite burger ever is still Cotham's Mercantile's Hubcap burger in Scott, Arkansas. The seasonings on the meat made it taste great and it didn't have a pile of "goo" on it to where you couldn't really taste the meat. I haven't eaten a fast food burger ever that comes close. Fast food burgers are great on value, but on taste, they're just adequate. They all get hyped up and they all fall short. All the hype of In N Out, Smashburger, Carl's Jr., Five Guys, Steak N Shake, Mooyah, etc. They were alright burgers and some even tasted pretty good, but they'll never live up to the hype of a great burger.

In Calgary, Five Guys is far and away the best burger there is. And if you think they're overpriced in Houston, they're almost ten bucks just for the burger here. Don't take this as a ringing endoresment though.........just be thankful of all the great food you have in Houston.

A few years back I was in the Beaumont area for business once a month. I ate at Novrosky's a few times and the burgers were better than average. Hope this helps.

Everytime i've had Five Guys it's been terrible every single time. IMO, the burgers are the same as any other fast food place maybe even worse.

But Becks Prime is were it's at.

I can walk to Peters from where I live. Admittedly, I've only been once, but once is all it took........I can't imagine one of the cheap McDonald's burgers being any worse. It was "interesting" to be handed a five pound bag of fries when we ordered a large to share amongst three, but nothing could make up for how crappy that burger was.

    YOU"RE WRONG, OP.

FIVE GUYS and Burger is one of the best (big chain) burger joints in the COUNTRY.

I just had my first burger from here, and THEY ARE CHEAP and they actually taste like real hamburgers.

I don't know if it's the most overrated burger joint in America, but it just isnt that good. Big Hat Burger in Austin, over on Burnet (we call it "burn-it" in Austin), is much better, and they have Blue Bell malts. I keep telling them to put one in Southwest Austin. I hope they do.

^ Tried Carl's Jr. in Cali a couple of years ago. Thought they were pretty bad burgers IMO. In-n-out is so much better!

Carls Jr. is DELICOUS and flavorful. In and Out is the most basic, overrated burger on the planet.

There's one in Westlake here in the Austin area that I tried once. Just once, though. It was pretty bad.

I'm weird. When I eat at 5 guys, I have the cheese hot dog. Better than the burger IMHO.
