Red Robin? Overpriced but pretty good.

I've been once, and my burger was terrible.

Overpriced and terrible. I'd just assume go to McDonalds.

I've actually never had a burger, when I was younger I was allergic to beef. I no longer am (according to tests) but I've always been a picky eater, and its hard to get myself to try new stuff.

But to get to the point, I think I want to try one. But I want it to be special. I live near Beaumont but I can wait until the next time im in Houston (not going any farther away than Houston though)

I was considering Five Guys, Whataburger, Carl's Jr., Red Robin, and some local places like Novrosky's or Hamburger Depot (not that anyone here has heard of those). This is all off what I've heard from other people, so there may be some amazing one that I'm missing. Any suggestions?

Didn't want to make my own thread, this one seems like itd work

I'd go to a local joint over a chain when it comes to getting the best burger.

If this will be your first burger, stay away from any kind of chain. They all pale in comparison to the small mom and pop burger joints. Take a road trip to Hatch, NM.....

I've eaten at Bernie's Burger Bus since the last time I shared thoughts on burgers in the Hangout. I do believe that has become my favorite burger.

Seconded - the Philly cheesesteak burger has no equal in town. Maybe not the right choice for purists, but I prefer my food tasty rather than pure.
