How could they get Howard without giving up Griffin? DeAndre Jordan is not nearly enough IMO.

Maybe they could make some cap room with some offseason trades then sign him. idk.

    Interesting.

-He has soured on New Jersey(who could blame him?).

    -Mavs aren't going away.

-As previously reported, if Dwight gets traded to anywhere else but New Jersey, it might be game over as far them keeping Williams.

-And Orlando not enamored about Bynum

That's interesting. I just came across this rumor from Bucher.

    <script src="http://player.espn.com/player.js?pcode=1kNG061cgaoolOncv54OAO1ceO-I&width=576&height=324&externalId=espn:7454058&thruParam_espn-ui[autoPlay]=false&thruParam_espn-ui[playRelatedExternally]=true"></script>

I think this (Kobe and the Lakers, not Dwight to the Clippers) has legs. And whether the deal happens at the trade deadline or after the season, it appears to me that Dwight is headed to the Lakers. If he is not traded by the deadline, I think he picks up his option and notifies the Magic that he is leaving after 2013 and forces Smith to deal him then.

The Clippers move is really unfeasible. Orlando would want both Blake and Deandre and that isn't happening. The whole deal is Dwight is trying to force a trade so he can sign for a super max deal and get all his money and play for a contender with a superstar perimeter player. The Clippers are just another option for him to attempt to use on Smith as leverage to deal him.

Now, if the Clippers offered Blake and Deandre, I would think Smith would jump all over that deal. But it's not going to happen.

The most likely scenario is Kobe goes to Kupchap at the deadline and tells him and Buss to go get Dwight for Bynum and Pau and the Lakers cave and do the deal with a few tweaks so they can get another player, preferrably an upgrade at the point, to play with Kobe and Dwight. It either happens at the deadline or in the offseason.

And this makes more sense to me in light of Kobe doing what he has been doing the last week or so. He is playing very selfishly and marginalizing Bynum and Pau. The basketball detective in me says this rumor of proving to Dwight he can still do it is true and that he is going to work Kupchap at the deadline to do this deal. Bynum/Gasol for Dwight/Hedo/Duhon.

Unless some other team comes out of the woodwork and overwhelms Smith with a deal that is better than Bynum/Pau. Personally, I think the Lakers will fold and give up both of them for Dwight. And personally, I think a Dwight/Kobe combo with other pieces around them is going to be tough to beat, tougher than the big 3 in Miami, or anybody else. They will, once again, be the primo team for the next few years.

What I am wondering about is would Orlando be willing to deal BYNUM, not Pau, since Bynum's contract runs out next season. Would they take multiple players back for Bynum? Something like Martin/Lowry/and Dally for Bynum and something else??

The basketball detective in me says Dwight is going to the Lakers.

Dwight is franchise changing. Griffin is still a forward looking prospect.

Anyway, having a stretch 4 like Ryan Anderson next to Dwight is a better fit.

He wouldn't want to go if Blake wasn't there.

Even if who the gave him up for was Dwight Howard.

i dont see how Kobe/dwight/ron is really that better than what they have now. I dont think they even have time to get him at the deadlin, adapt to him, and then make a playoff run....season isnt gettign any longer.

Brian Cook should be enough to get the deal done.

I doubt Clips would trade Griffin so i don't know how this would even happen.

if they give up blake for dwight and still retain deandre that would be a nasty combo.

Dwight Howard reminds of the girl in the candy store who cannot make her mind, yet is expecting everyone to roll out the red carpet for her, while they are 8 other people in line.

He should be sent to NBA purgatory in Charlotte or Toronto, and be forced to sign with either team for five years.

All I know is Yao Ming would've never hold his team up for hostage, and demand trades to particular teams.

There's nothing wrong with this, but it's overdone at this point.

Hard to demand trades when you were hurt every single season.

Yao Ming was Chinese coming into the league.
You can blame Howard but I think it has a lot to do with the Super Friends stuff. He was drafted in 2004 after the class of 2003 but he played with them on the national TEAM.
I can remember Dwight calling every woman ma'am when he came into the league.... was quite the nice guy which he still is.

Griffin will be way better than Howard when it is all said and done, keep Griffin and CP3 together and give them anything else...
