    I"m sure they'd rather be preparing for this week...but a nice consolation prize. Should start to see some of those 9 alternates named to the team.

    How do coaches usually get picked? Sounds like it's not automatic like in the NBA?

    Used to be the conference championship loser, but I guess since the pro bowl is now a week after those games they give it to the highest seeds eliminated after the divisional round.

    they are now picked by the divisional series. The highest seed not playing in the Conference championship gets the call.

    Yeah, the article on NFL.com said that if the Packers had won, the Saints coaching staff would be coaching the NFC. But since Green Bay lost, their coaches will be coaching instead.
