The lisfranc injury that Schaub has takes about a year to become fully healed. There is no way Schaub is back by OTAs. And even when Schaub returns, who knows how he'll play considering that injury is on his plant foot.
This is not true. Typical healing time with surgery is 6-12 weeks, then physical therapy begins. 6 months tops to get back to football activities, barring complications requiring a second surgery.
I never really heard how bad the injury was but from most sources about a lisfranc injury requiring surgery, they seem to indicate that around the 6 month mark you're approximately 80% and a year for 100%. By June, Schaub will have about 7 months under his belt since surgery. While he may not be 100%, i still expect him to be taking snaps and throwing. Unfortunately, his 40 time will drop from 7.4 to 7.9
There is a doctor who posts on TexansTalk who had some detailed posts in Schaub's injury (Cloak is the injury guru over there...always getting them right). Timeline was about a year, but we'll see.
it is probably a year to be 100%, like i said before, but that doesn't mean he can't/won't play at 80 or 90%.
Maybe is Yates had played the whole season we'd be contenders Any way Schaub was a third rounder himself so let's not discount the kid based on where he was taken I liked what I saw. Honestly, what made me feel better was watching the highlights from the other games. I think in some instances . . . his receivers did him no favors. Look at the New York Game I saw several high lights that were a RECEIVER'S EFFORT from being interceptions The Hail Mary Pass. There was one pass that was going directly into the CB's hands but the receiver managed to get in front and make the catch Call it bull**** if you like but Yates faced probably the 2ND BEST defense this weekend with the WORSE receivers. Remove AJ from the mix . . .what the h*ll do we have??? Let's take a look at the receivers from the other teams Denver New England Ravens Saints 9ers Giants Packers Even WITH AJ . . . which receiving corp would you take OURS over? Yates is a gun slinger . . . i really don't mind it. I think he will be able to start somewhere in this league if he is given the opportunity to develope. He is in front of Lienart on my depth chart Rocket River
