I agree that the Texans don't need to trade up to get Blackmon. He's a great one, but there are 4-5 potential #1 guys in this draft. No need to make that type of move when the Texans are 1 excellent draft away from being a major player for the next 4-5 years.

Draft at your position, sign another one in FA. Alshon Jeffrey and Reggie Wayne would be awesome.

This draft has some nice WR. But I think we draft a center first.

Why?... Chris Meyers has been everything we asked for right?

Why would the Texans do that? Chris Meyers has been fine and will be cheap to resign. Texans need to go WR in the first round. If Jeffrey has dropped far enough, they should trade up a few spots and get him. This is after signing a FA WR like Manningham, Royal, Jackson (punt returner)? Texans can still resign Mario/Arian by letting some old vets walk and cutting Jones/Leinart (~$6M saved in the cap from those two alone).

A couple of years ago, the Texans needed a CB in the first round. While I don't think Jackson is as bad as most, he was drafted way too high. If WR is the BPA, draft one. No more reaching.

WR's are so hard to draft though and is a crap shoot for the most part. I'd much rather go after a known commodity like Desean Jackson or Dwayne Bowe in free agency.

Is it just me or does the OP's link go to a different player?

what impresses me about this guy is he put up big numbers on a team that doesn't pass. I would consider him a sleeper.

I know I sound like a broken recored, by Ryan Broyles will be a good value pick as well, and fills that slot/PR role we need to upgrade.

count me in on Dwayne Bowe. I think he would be fantastic in this offense.

I agree WR can be a crap shoot, but if you look at last years draft, there were more hits then misses, and I would say about 3 HRs (my apologies for mixing sports anologies).

on paper this draft stacks up well with last years

I like Royal. He'd immediately supplant Jones as a punt returner and I would imagine his contract would be smaller.

will the texans move him to OL?

I don't force a 1st round pick on a WR. If the best player available there is one, then fine, but quality WRs can be had later.

Would love to have him, but a lotta mock drafts have him in the top15. Depends on the price to move up that high.

Also, Royal is still fairly young, doesn't have the same mileage as some of the other guys.

Jay Cutler made a fairly good weapon, out of him, which I don't think Tebow could or may take some to time to learn how to, like some of their other receivers, like Decker and Thomas who often get alot of flack. In fact, they are still better than Cutler's current receivers, where Cutler might could actually stretch the field with these guys.

Trading up for Blackmon would be rediculous. There's no doubt he is the best receiver in the draft, but the asking price would be too high for my taste. I would not want to give up what the Falcons gave up for Jones.

Give me Floyd or Jeffery. I'm all for trading up a few spots to pick either up if necessary.

No need to trade. Plenty of good #2 WR in the draft availabe in the late first and 2nd. A center might be nice though.

Different set of circumstances. Texans know who they are offensively. ATL had an idenity crisis on offense ALL SEASON.

    Texans D >>>>>>>>>>>> ATL's D.
