Had he called for a fair catch every time.... he would have had more return yards.

    Strange, isn't it.

Best thing i can say about Jacoby: releasing him will open up #12 for James Casey to wear.

Jacoby is one of those players that just never improved....If I remember corrrectly he had a punt return for a TD against the cowboys preseason 07 and really that was the high point for his career...

"I should have just let it roll," said Jacoby Jones on his muffed punt that led to Ravens TD. "Of course I'm upset about. It's a turnover."

We've known this for 3 years. Next to NOTHING done about it.

Beefed up the tight end spot. Freaking Garret Graham?! Such a luxury.

NOTHING on WRs but "waiting" on Jacoby

Coaches should have seen it coming a mile away. When Andre Davis went down and Jacoby Jones stepped into the #3 WR role, his performance as a punt returner went way down.

    Yards per return

    2008 - 12.1
    2009 - 10.9
    2010 - 7.0
    2011 - 10.6

Take away the 79 yard return in a blow out against a pathetic Colts team and the 50 yard return in a blow out against an equally pathetic Browns team, and you are left with a guy that essentially averaged 8.3 yards per return. His style of run lateral/backwards to outrun opponents never worked; not sure why he thought it necessary to do it all season long.

I think that's all she wrote on that one.

To be fair, he's not fumble prone. But everything else is true. He's not even that good of a returner. He was 14th in the league in yards per return. Middle of the pack. Yeah, he returned a punt for a TD but so did 15 other guys.

Do you know how many fair catches he has this season? 7. That's the fewest of all returners with at least 20 returns. 2nd in the number of returns, last in number of fair catches amongst regular returners. The guy thinks he should return everything.

Last year, he was 23rd in yards per return. He's not good. He gives you nothing as a receiver and is mediocre at best as a return guy. Cut. Him.

Saw him a couple months ago at the Shell on Hwy 6 in Fresno by the Fort Bend Tollway buying cigars . In a white Camaro. Did'nt bother going up to him cause I thought he was garbage and today he proved it. Get rid of him.

    Cool story bro.

Jones gets 30% of the blame. Yates gets 70%.

The sorry b*stard ****ed up good field position for us multiple times.... How many times today, did he have to make the 1st guy miss and head upfield...Instead he stalls looking for God knows what, and runs horizontal... We could have had tremendous field position numerous times if he just does like regular PRs and make a quick move and get 10 damn yards....

Jones lost this game for us. We had the lead and the momentum.

I will say that he was an outstanding blocker this year. His dedication to blocking shows his commitment to the team.

There were more than a few runs that he helped break by maintaining his blocks.

But receivers get paid to catch the ball, so he has to go...

Jacoby Jones will go down as one of the most exciting players in Texans franchise. His energy and skillsets can't be matched. He has great speed and is a great rout runner. Every season his improving his hands because his a great listener and a joy to have in the locker room . Jacoby battle fights in every position like its his last. I still believe ha can be a great 2 WR and maybe 1 in couple of years.

    sincerely

What prompted you to create this thread? There is nothing to appreciate about this guy. Id rather have someone warm the bench. Manning should return punts too. At least he runs forward.

I can't stand how he'll catch the ball & stand there for almost a second. RUN MF'r RUN! Try running forward too!
