Not sure why his 41.7% from 3-land MUST cool off somewhat? HE shot 37.8% last year (up from 27% the year before) - based on the fact that he clearly worked on his shot for last season, there's reason to believe he might have bumped it again this year! (compare to 36.4% pre allstar break last season and 39.4% post all star break - 22 games) It's not like his overall FG% is sizzling (44.3) - so one might realistically hope that he maintains those kind of numbers! I'd like to see him continue it over the course of this whole year before declaring that he's our "best ever" - but if he continue in the same vein then he's got a good argument!
Z-Ro? RIP to my mutha ****** mutha. Lowry is playing the best PG I have ever seen for the Rockets. Been watching since '93 (age 6), started understanding the game in maybe '99?
I think we have a pretty good sample if reach back to the end of last season. Since the all-star game last year, Lowry has played 32 games. These are his numbers: 36.6 min/g, 17.1 pts/g, 7.9 ast/g, 5.3 reb/g, 1.4 stl/g, 2.6 tov/g He's got a 58 TS%, thanks largely to a 40% 3-point shooting clip (2.3 makes per game). That's strong, and his numbers this season may surpass that because he does look like an improved player.
Steve Francis was an athlete that played basketball...really more of a hybrid two. It seemed like the Rockets put a square peg in a round hole playing him out top. It made him think too much...ergo.dribblerama. I would liked to have seen Francis put in a position to where his game could come to him...attacking from the wing and getting it in the flow. Anyway, Kyle Lowry is already a much better basketball player than Stevie ever was. He makes his teammates better from a position that is hardest to master...and does it while playing at a level that is outta sight. John Lucas was amazing even towards the end and Sam I Am was super in his first two seasons, but Kyle takes the cake ......We'll get him some help eventually.
Steve Francis wasn't a good point guard, he played in a scheme that made him the #1 option. He was more a scorer when he had his quicks and athleticism. Has Lowry dribbled out the 24 second clock yet? I don't think he has.
According to DD, though, Lowry is hogging the ball to pad his stats at the expense of his teammates. WHERE'S THE WINS LOWRY? WHY U NO DRAG YR TEAMMATES FROM THE DEPTHS OF SUCKITUDE TO BEAT THE BEST TEAMS IN THE NBA???
