Rather than do a poll on this, I'm setting this up similar to one that's on Amazon. The way it works is that you list what you feel are the 5 greatest CDs of all time with the #1 getting 5 points, #2 getting 4, etc. down to the #5 getting 1 point. I will keep an ongoing tally to see which ones are the highest-ranked- the ClutchFans Hall of Fame of Recordings, so to speak.

So, to start, here's my top 5 (some of which I'm sure will be at the bottom soon enough):

Bruce Springsteen- Born to Run- 5
Marvin Gaye- What's Going On- 4
    Van Morrison- Astral Weeks- 3
    U2- Achtung Baby- 2
    REM- Murmur- 1

Oh, I'm not a big fan on rules for stuff like this, but try to keep it to studio recordings as opposed to greatest hits compilations.

Here are my 5 greatest albums of all-time, not necessarily my favorites, but the ones that I feel have transcended time:

1 - Pink Floyd with Dark Side of the Moon (5 points)
2 - Radiohead with OK Computer (4 points)
3 - The Beach Boys with Pet Sounds (3 points)
4 - The Beatles with Rubber Soul (2 points)
5 - Miles Davis with Kind of Blue (1 point)

Just missing the top 5 is Bob Dylan with Blood on the Tracks.

Chris Thile - Not All Who Wander Are Lost
    Richard Thompson - Mirror Blue
Shangri Las - Myrmidons of Melodrama
Mahmoud Ahmed - Ere Mela Mela
    Black Eyes - Cough

Got a feeling I'm the only constituent on these.

I like a lot of Thompson's guitar work when he collaborates with other groups and musicians. But not so much on his own.
