I like him, don't love him.

If we could get a good pick or a good young player I'd probably be okay with trading him.

Don't like him. Never have. There's something about the way he plays that rarely results in wins.

He never lead the Kings to anything. The Rockets have still been average with him.

If the Rockets have the ultimate role players and great support and Martin is so great why are we only winning 42 games every year and finishing 9th?

Because Martin is a role player himself.. Albeit a very good one. He cannot lead a team to anything.

There's too many times where he tries to get "fouled" when he could have just simply scored, and results in him flopping and not scoring and starting the other team's fast break while he lies on the ground with massively underweight frame.

Trade him..... And if you want to follow him to the next board go ahead. Trade him for that draft pick folks.

He's a good SG, you just have to accept what he's going to give you. Below average defense, can score in bunches off the ball and can create a shot against average or weak defenders.

Not going to take over the game on the offensive end nor be a defensive stopper, but he'd be one of the best second or third options on a contending team in the entire NBA, because he doesn't need to dominate the ball in order to put a lot of points on the board.

He definitely adds a lot of value to the team and it's not his fault that we haven't been able to pick up that true first option.

He does probably need a strong defensive SF to play beside him to cover for his defensive weakness. In the right situation he'd be vital to a playoff team.

k-mart does not need to work on his D, if he does at this stage in his career, it will honestly mess up the rest of his game and stamina. Some of the elite can do it, some defensive minded players can learn offense. But teaching defense to someone who does not seem willing to learn is asking for too much, and we honestly knew what we were getting when got him.

The reason his lack of d seemed so obvious during the first couple of games is that the forwards on the team sucked on D, Scola and Bud. Bud is now gone, hopefully, scola is next

He is what he is, and I am okay with that. I am not okay with his contract, however. IMO he gets paid way to much for what he doesn't do on the floor. He is a roleplayer, a very good one but still a roleplayer. A roleplayer that is paid like a star. He is hard to trade b/c of this IMO.

People complaining that the foul shouldn't have been called; isn't the rule change in regards to the foul Kevin Martin drew, just mean that it would usually be called a foul on the floor. That said, I believe the blazers were in the penalty anyway so the Free throws were justified. I can't remember too specifically how far he jumped forward and how that would affect the call, but if someone could clarify it for me that would be fantastic.

He doesn't get paid like a star... he's being paid about $12M a year at the tail end of his contract. Stars get paid $16M a year early in their contracts and $20M+ at the end of their contracts.

He gets paid like what he is, a very good roleplayer/not-quite all star.

A year ago I would have called him more than just a very good roleplayer, because he was important to Adelman's offense, even with the everybody-gets-a-piece type of game the Rockets were running.

But he lost his superstar level of free throws...now he's just a role player. Sad ):

Martins scoring has dropped off because of the fact that he is focusing on his defense more. He is becoming a very good two way player.

Martin could actually become more effective as a two way role player. He is still good for 18-20 pts a game with defense added.

    BTW, great moniker!:)

Not again. This is getting old. Martin just needs more time under the new regime to get going on a constant basis. Scola is still the same player giving everything he has every night, unlike Patterson and Hill which do not play all out and bring the energy that is needed off the bench every night and this is why Parsons is getting PT.

If kmart could be more consistent and SHOW UP during the 4th he would be really good. Hes a pure scorer, and a good one at that.

Waiting for tonight when everybody is going to rage at Kevin Martin based off of another knee jerk reaction.

Martin is a p***y, did you look at how he just handed off the ball instead of going up strong for the layup :p

Nothing changed in the rules that redefine what a foul is.

Everything that was a foul last year is still a foul this year.

Martin had 8 assists for the Washington game. Love or hate him, he has a quick first step and can shoot Steve Nash FT percentages. He played to win, played over 40+ minutes again. His defense has improve, he will not take a charge, or get a block, at least he sticks his fingers on the defender which he didn't do early in his career.
