Arron Brooks is terrible. This guy was why we lost most of the time. NO defense. All he can do is throw up 3's.

I gotta say Steve Francis was one of our best. But gotta say Lowry is better than him.

As a Rocket, he might be the best, but overall career . . . I wouldn't say he is as good as "Guppy."

    Then, there's Steve Francis.

Of course, there's always Calvin Murphy, who was more of combo guard, but he did start at point guard for most of his career. He was a firecracker, though and he was underrated as an efficient scorer and a defender.

If he were to keep up his current level of production for a few years and lead this team to the postseason on the way, he would be the best.

Seriuosly, people still think Aaron Brooks was good? He was a system player, propped up by Adelman, Shane Battier, and Ron Artest

It's between Kyle Lowry and Calvin Murphy.

I can tell who did and did not keep up with the Rockets back in the day. Murph did play some point bit was much more of a shooting guard.

If John Lucas had not been so destructive I'd would be him. I think right now Kyle Lowry is the best and he is clearly in the process of having the best season ever for a Rockets point guard.

I think you meant self-destructive, crash, and he was that in spades. Lucas was also the best pure point we've ever had, IMO. I would place Murph second, but most of his career was as a shooting guard, or a "combo" guard. The two seasons I remember him being the starting point, he averaged 7.4 and 7.3 APG, so he could definitely play the position, and play it well, also being an excellent defender. Sleepy Floyd had two or three outstanding seasons with the Rocks as the PG. I'd have him third. Francis and Smith probably 4th and 5th, or 5th and 4th, Smith being on the championship teams. Lowry could end up better than any of them as a pure point, but it's still early. Heck, it's still early in this season. Kyle has a long road ahead of him.

There was no D in John Lucas. Great assist man though.

Best since Sura at least in retrospect. At the time Brooks left, I thought they should have retained him and let Lowry go. I was obviously wrong.

    Kyle #1
    Sam #2

Sura, Steve, Aaron, Kenny aren't even in the same class.
