It's going to be a great year next year when we get Schaub back at QB, Mario /Reed combo at LB, Wade back as defensive coord., and Hartmann back to kick Turd to the curb.

I'm glad we got this far with a 3rd string QB, who will next season be sitting on the bench watching Schaub take us to the Super Bowl. I really, really hope Kubiak gets smart and kicks Jacoby to the curb and gets a true WR either through FA or through the draft.

    GO TEXANS!

Agreed. We still finished a top 3 AFC team dispite losing Schaub, Mario, Arian for games ...
Will def. be a Superbowl favorite if healthy...Need to recognize Foster as the MVP superstar he is and get Mario at least one more year with us

Also need some more competition at CB for Cursed Kareem and Jason Allen.

The defense was excellent today. Yates just locked onto Andre the whole game long and basically played like the rookie he is. Hurts now sure, but in the cold light of morning this team is worth being very proud of.

I am sure one or another statistics monger will point out that Jacoby is actually (statistically) a very good punt returner, but I would love to see somebody else back there next year.

One wonders what would have been if we had most of our horses all year.

    Great job Texans.

Fully agreed. Lot to hang your hat on for the future. At least the wait won't be 10 years next time!

Mario makes the defense even BETTER... guys like him are NOT a dime a dozen. Texans have the inside track to keep him, and I really hope they're not settling for their current defense just because they ended the year on a real high note.

They're not dead without him (obviously), but he makes them better.

Schaub needs to come back strong. They will get more weapons in the draft (on both sides), and Foster now has proven that he's not simply a one-year wonder. He's the type of RB you can build an offense around.

Great effort by our Houston Texans for both playoff games and the best season in first history......Defense held RRice in check and much prop goes to Wade.....Wished we had schaub, but yates had a good run....bad game today tho.....Hope we bring in or draft a better #2 WR and get rid of Jacoby Jones.....Physical specimen, but dumb as shiet....love to see super mario back, but not gonna pay him 15-20M to bring him back....rather use that money to shore up our weakness on offense and secondary

great run for this team. really wish we had Schaub under center for this last game but that's digressing. the defense is only going to get better from here on out. as for a number 2 receiver, isn't lestar jean on IR this year? he looked darned good in preseason.

draft alshon jeffery, let mario go and use that money to resign arian and a legitimate second corner... done.

not saying i don't want mario here b/c the guy is a stud but we saw we can get pretty close to matching his production while shoring up a few areas of real concern.

Excellent direction. I am praying this happens like that. I like the fact it is a deep WR draft, but I hate a lot of teams ahead of the Texans need WR as well . . . I def. want a proven corner that will help BIG-time and we can do that..by NOT keeping Mario unfortunately...but the need is greater of addressing WR & a 2nd corner

I am proud of this texans team as well. They fought and played with a lot of effort and heart. I am pumped for next season once we are all healthy.
HOWEVER, if I was returning punts, I can guarantee we would have advanced. You know why? Because I wouldn't have touched the ball EVER.

Obviously the best team in Texan history, and one of the best in Houston's. Love this lion of a defense.

Extremely proud of this team. They fought hard all season and overcame all kinds of injuries. The future is bright for this squad if we keep Foster and draft another good WR.

You posted those quotes about our OL dominating....

I was searching for updated draft positions and mocks. Mostly everyone is picking an OL for us. Are these guys not seeing that we are really desperate for a WR, NT, or CB?

    --BUMP--

OP is full of win. As for the rest of the threads I saw when I hit the forum just now, what the hell is wrong with you people? We just advanced to the second round of the playoffs with a 3rd string rookie quarterback.

THE TEXANS WENT TO THE PLAYOFFS AND WON A GAME!

If you can't find anything good to say, it's your mouth you should fire, not Kubiak or Jones or whoever. Just sayin'.

In the midst of post-loss edginess that all fans suffer, I think we're collectively overlooking the fact that we actually accomplished something this year and that our team finally has an IDENTITY.

We'll be back, and we'll no longer be the novelty expansion team, but rather the Houston Texans, a.k.a. "your QB is going to feel it tomorrow".
