Of course, Denver could offer Nene more than any other team. That much is obvious. And if you're asking me that question (again) in a patronizing tone, I don't appreciate it. (Sorry. On edge right now watching the Texans game.)
This is actually partially true. I don't call myself an insider like Oeilpere, Doc, Clutch or any of the true insiders on this board. However, like I've mentioned in the past and close to the start of the season, I do have ties with NeNe's family n his wife's side. (And, Jason Smith, but nobody cares about him...yet. ) This is what I was told from sister-in-law (mainly) and wife via phone and text, especially when I kept checking NBA news during work: Flame me, whatever. If you care to read, great: 1. In order, NeNe's wanted to sign with Denver, Houston, New Jersey, Indiana, Dallas (yuck). 2. NeNe was waiting to see if Dwight went to New Jersey. If Dwight was traded there, NeNe was ready to sign. NJ was working on other moves to open up more money. 3. Nene was NOT comfortable with McHale. NeNe and George Karl are incredibly close...their relationship goes way beyond the court and into health (Cancer). From sister-in-law: NeNe did not think the Rockets/McHale knew how to use him correctly. ( I guess he thinks George does.) 4. The Dwight trade and Pau trade fell through. NeNe was looking to play with another strong forward/center. 5. * If Pau trade went through, we had about the same money to offer NeNe. He liked the Texas tax system. (Though, I don't know if this is true...i don't live in Texas.) 6. THE WIFE ....Colorado roots, Colorado family, New baby. Staying put is what she wanted. This ultimately settled it. ....and that's what I know. The coolest thing that was never covered...if we had signed NeNe, a former all-star PG was ready to follow his buddy here. Happy Sunday. Go Texans! My Broncos are out.
Yeah, me too. Lots of nerves..... Thanks for answering my condescending tone. And understanding why...lol..you are a good egg Bima. DD
I was skeptical when he said it, but leebigez was right that a coach’s reputation means something to players and they wouldn’t want to play for McFail. Anyway, thanks for clarifying that Denver was Nene’s first priority. It’s clear now that he wouldn’t have come here unless Denver refused to match our offer, and I’m sure they would have.
yea i don't think people remember that dragic was in that trade. but then again for lowry and gasol on the same team, i would give away dragic
Thanks. I'll take this option. Why should anyone who's bothered to learn how the cap works take a trade that didn't happen and a signing that didn't follow as an opportunity to explain how it works to you? I guess I should be happy that you just made another lame thread instead of another lame thread about T Mac. Consider this an intervention. Your awful threads have affected me in the following ways....
I've been regretting it not happening recently but seeing he'd be payed superstar money is making me switch back.
Whatever you do this all the time. You attempt to twist things to make your flawed opinion into fact. Regardless of how much circumstantial evidence to the contrary you argue to the point of looking like a fool. Virtually all of the circumstantial evidence points to Nene being a Rocket. However you do not want this to be the case because it does not fit your bias.
Gasol, Nene and Lowery is probably not knocked out in the 1st round, especially with how this season is playing out.
Ego overload here. DD feeling butthurt when someone doesn't agree with what he says. This is just nasty to read - and so immature.
All PR evidence points to that, but all realistic evidence does not. I just do not blindly believe the PR the organization puts out. DD
Yeah, no one ever asks for someone to answer their question, just me. And my ego is fine, thank you ! DD
The truth is that now Nene will go out of his way to refute whatever claim there was that he was waiting to sign with Houston because he now has to be fully vested in Denver and make the fans feel at ease with his loyalty to the franchise. -However, even if they didnt sign Nene, but did re-sign Chuck/and Dalembert, thats a nice combo or gritty post defenders to surround Gasol with.
DD, you're doing it again. I actually think your opinion about Nene is a perfectly logical and reasonable one. But you're falling into the same trap of letting those insulting you drag you into a fight that needlessly clutters a thread. And please don't be so dismissive of those thinking that Nene would have been a Rocket. That is also a very logical and reasonable opinion and just so happens to be one that I share. You conveniently marginalizing it as some sort of PR spin campaign (when not a single soul affiliated with the Rockets has formally commented about it) makes you just as bad as everyone who's attacking your opinion. Two opinions. Neither is fact. Neither is spin, either. Both are reasonable. Now just let it slide off you, DD, while at the same time trying to avoid doing the same thing to others.
