Good sign that we can finally win a game in overtime though it was unnecessary. The bench though more productive is pretty bad, considering last year we thought we had one of the deepest benches *cough*

Budinger might have given us some points but how many did he concede by leaving Batum open again, and again, and again ? Pretty much evens out or maybe even more than Bud scored himself.

Dragic, what can I say, I like the kid but those blocks by Batum were well deserved. He went up soft and the second one where we had a three on one was just selfish so it was good he got blocked to remind him. He should've passed it off to Martin we could've chosen to lay it up or pass back to Bud / Dragic.

Hill was okay and Patterson was meh. We need our bench to do something or we will not get far, Lowry & Martin playing around 40 minutes is not going to cut. We need some help off the bench, and soon.

It was more of a problem with the defensive rotation. When Chase was filling the other open wing, Ke.... cough* or other defender should've come up filled Chase position...

McHale is going with a short bench, and still barely playing them.. Them we have like a style of Van Gundy offense.. We're gonna crash and burn if this stays up.

Yeah, I'm worried about this. Some of our guys are playing way too many minutes. Something's gonna give out if they keep it up.

Reputations are fine and all but Patterson was abused by Craig Smith in this game.

Of course, people used to b**** about AB shooting so much, and now are embracing the same from Lowry.

I am ok with it from both.....but I find the irony flat out hilarious.

You do know that Lowry is 3rd in the league in assists per game, right?

I am not saying they are equal now, just finding the irony funny.

I think Kyle has become a great scorer as well as assist guy and floor general.

His flaw was scoring/shooting and now he is pretty good at it, he got minutes and improved.

    Good for him and us.

Lots of people would if you guard Smith straight up. Should have sent help and made him prove he could pass out of double team.

Dear lord, how did I miss this gem?

People "b****ed" about AB shooting too much because he did NOT do the intangible things that a competent point guard NEEDS to do. He has never contolled tempo and he often did a terrible job at getting others involved. Lowry does both, AND he scores...

When Lowry is missing his shots, he can still have a freaking fantastic game. The same can NOT be said for Aaron Brooks.

The irony is that you are inventing false irony to cover up for your illogical opinions from the past.

I complained about Brooks' miserable 1.1 PPS whiel Lowry is maintaining a 1.3 PPS. I always talked bout the fact that if Brooks could learn to take contact and draw fouls and get to the FT line, like Lowry, that his game would be greatly enhanced.

    Perspectives:

    1. AB's Usage Rates (measuring what % of total team possessions was "used
by a player-- i.e. ending up with the player attempting a shot, drawing a shooting foul or turning the ball over) were 25.9 and 26.1 during the last 1 and 1/2 seasons with the Rockets. Lowry's Usage Rate this season was 22.9, higher than his prior high of 18.6, but still not close to where AB's were.

Lowry is looking for his shot more this year-- partly due to necessity given the Kevin Martin's struggle to score, but even at this increased rate he has not looked for his shot at the same rate that AB was.

    2. AB's AST% (i.e. % of teammates FG assisted by a player) in his last 1 and 1/2 year with Houston were 25.6 and 25.2. Lowry's current assist rate, 40.6, is much higher than those numbers.

Of course, this probably reflects a different offense and different teammates (i.e. no Chuck Hayes or Brad Miller getting assists), but even when both were playing under Adelman in the last couple seasons, Lowry had a higher AST%s (27.7 and 29.4) than AB.

    3. NOBODY that I remember is arguing that it's a bad thing that any player at any position has the ability to score the basket, or that looking for shots is a bad thing. If the Rockets had Magic Johnson or Isiah Thomas, who scored 20 points a game in multiple seaosns, I doubt anyone would be complaining.

People didn't have a problem with AB takings shots and scoring 20 points at a reasonable efficiency. The issue is with AB's general inability to do much of anything else (like passing, playing defense, rebounding, etc.) and, last year, with his inability to even score efficiency after his injury (couldn't hit the 3, getting smothered on drives).

Deckard that's what I noticed. Coach know's more of what he is working with, and is drawing up plays accordingly. Go Coach! GO Rockets! No tanking allowed! what he has now

Glad someone else noticed. I'm still not a fan of the coaching change, but those two plays impressed me. :)-

Personally I never b****ed about AB. I really liked this guy from the beginning... It was evident that his little body couldn't guard bigger guards and I was disappointed with him sucking and sulking but I never said a bad word.

Got to take my 5yo son to the game last night. He got to dance with the Rowdies and meet Matt Bullard. Great night and we got the win.

Last night was a great night to be at the game. Also got to meet and took some shots with Chase Budinger last night at the bar. Super cool guy, very down to earth.

Told him next time they play the Spurs he has my approval to go ahead and trip Tony Parker into the front row for a career ending Knee injury. Nothing Tanya Harding like, just a good ole frowned upon cheap shot. He laughed and said he will see what he can do.
