My concern for our team is their mentality coming into this game. I think we can decide how well to rate Kubiak based on the results of the game. Even if we lose (not saying we are), and we come close, he deserves a lot of respect. But the whole nation is rooting for Baltimore, and those players know it. However, it's in Kubiak's hands to inspire his football players to take all of that out on the field. He's got the magic words to say to his players that this is serious. It's in Kubiak's hands on how he will handle the Texans' mentality upon entering this game. I'm getting the jitters. Texans - 26 Ravens - 19
Kubiak isn't getting fired with a stinker today... not when you're playing on the road against a dominant team, while you're still with a 3rd string QB. He still deserves more credit for keeping the team afloat, and keeping them in contention, given all their injuries.
Bottom line, I'd like to see this team compete no matter what happens today. Sure, Baltimore at home beats us 7 or even 8 out 10 times, but all we need is a win baby! 1 pt, 10 pts, doesn't matter! GO TEXANS!
7BOOMERESIASON Since 1990 (12 team NFL playoff format) never have all 8 home teams won. Good news for the #Texans and #Giants. #roadwarriors
HOLY. CRAP. GO TEXANS!!!!! <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Jh6D_hw-Xvk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Houston has to come out and realize that there is zero pressure in this game. They have had a solid year and are a QB injury away from being a SB contender (maybe they still are?) But they have played well all year and have a bright future. If they start to think about Baltimore and let that get in their heads, than they will lose. Lot of weight on Joe Flacco today IMO. PITT is out and a lot of the Ravens' defense is getting old.
Just woke up .... We're going o the AFC Championship game today for the first time in a couple of decades and I AM STOKED! The Texans might not kick in the door, but are good enough (even short handed) to dispense with these guys......qoute the Raven never more. Do it for Houston, do it for yourselves, and make all of us (whether we started with the Columbia Blue or are initiates and only know the Texans) proud. Go Texans!
Typical ESPN... devoting an entire segment (almost half an hour) to the Jets, and they have LT in studio. Who the hell cares about the Jets? Hell, the more popular NY team has a game today and they are still talking about the Jets?!?
Fixing to head out to BW3 for the game with my best bud and family. I think that Texans fight like heck and keep it close for most of 3 quarters but finally wear down in the 4th. Ravens 24 Texans 13 I think our offensive is going to have a hard time moving the ball. My gut says the Ravens get off to a hot start with an opening TD and maybe an early TO. Texans fight back in the 2nd to keep it close and both teams fight to a standstill in the 3rd before a 4th quarter Texans TO and Ravens TD followed by Rice eating the clock finally take the life out of us. Anyway, just looking forward to our guys giving them hell and fighting for everything they are worth. Win or lose, I will be proud.
I cannot believe I'm about to watch the Texans play the Ravens in the divisional round of the playoffs in 2 hours. I just cannot. Just the fact that there is a chance the Texans make it to the AFC Championship game in the next 5 hours blows my mind. But, although I'm nervous, I really do believe!
So pretty much like a carbon copy of the first game... I have to think that the Texans offense is going to be more consistent this time around, despite no Schaub. Andre Johnson AND Arian both can't have bad games. Also, Wade to be on the sidelines... first time since his "gallbladder" surgery per NFL network. Why are they still calling it gallbladder? It was a large ass kidney tumor.
here's to hoping familiarity of playing in Baltimore and more experience this time around with our defense, along with adding Dre... trumps homefield advantage. We played hard for 3qtrs last time.. we just need to do it for 4 this time around. Win this one and were one game from the Superbowl. (feels weird saying that) edit: just got a text that Wade will be on the sidelines
Yes! we are underdogs, everyone picking against us! Last game, we had never won a playoff game. This game, we have never beat Baltimore. Do I sense a pattern?
