he was playing shooting guard last year. he averaged 5 assist while curry was the primary ball handler. kevin martin's career high in assist is 2.7 for a season. warriors aint giving up ellis but a young scorer like him is more valuable than kevin martin.
The rumors were they would give up Ellis and not Curry....so man, I would be all over that....he would instantly be our best player...by a long way....and would mesh well with the Bulldog mentailty of lowry, scola, and parsons. DD
That's about what Jason Terry makes for coming off the bench in Dallas. If Ellis would be willing to play that role I would love to have him in the Rockets. I would not mind moving Lee into the starting line up and trading KMart to GS for Ellis.
He is better than Lee for sure but both Dallas and San Antonio have proved that sometimes having your best guard come off the bench and leaving him in at the end of games can be very valuable. Both Ginobli and Jet have proven their value coming off the bench and both have easily been their teams best 2 guards for years.
Yep, I might even consider starting him over Lowry and have Lowry come off the bench, but people's heads would explode here if that happened. DD
It becomes more and more apparent everyday that the lot of people on this board don't watch any other games except the Rockets'. Monta Ellis > K Mart
S. Curry either has an ankle sprain or is about to suffer another. It's a damn shame, but, as a result, I don't see Golden State trading Ellis anytime soon. And not to us. Why would we give up Lowry, the player they'd certainly ask for? Makes just over half the money and plays D.
Agree with this, they will closely examine Curry's health issues and won't trade Monta until this is solved.
In the hypothetical Ellis scenario, this would be the best case: Ellis, Lee, Parsons, Scola and Dalembert as starters, with Lowry, Patterson, Hill and bring up Morris. That's not a bad team at all.
No way. No one in their right mind picks Lowry over Ellis if given the choice. Ellis wouldn't be the Rockets' best player "by a long way" (hello, Scola!), but he's a big upgrade over Lowry. Ellis is a "game-changer."
Lowry brings other things to the table, hustle, top 5 steals in the league, Defense, top 5 assists in the league, good AS/TO ratio, and top 5 rebounding for PG Ellis is just top 5 in scoring. So yeah we need scoring but saying Ellis is much better than Lowry is a reach, because Lowry is the TEAM right now.
Are you guys insane? Ellis off the bench on this Houston Rockets team? Lol what??? He would be starting and being our best player. He is actually underrated at the passing aspect in the game and is one of the best scorers. He plays the passing lanes and gambles on defense a lot though
