How much longer until Bud is demoted to 3rd string?

There is a legit question.
Then why do you care so much about a 2nd to 3rd string player? 2 good games and 4 bad games that is not decent at all.

 

Is 34 percent 3-point shooting "good"? I'm pretty sure that's horrible for a guy whose supposed to at least be able to put points on the board, particularly from the perimeter. If so, Rafer Alston was a marksman. Ray Allen-like, even.

The "right situation"? What does that mean? As in you have no other available small forwards on your roster?

And shouldn't "jack of all trades" mean better career averages than 3.2 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 0.5 steals in 21.1 minutes a game?

What am I missing? I don't get it DD. The numbers don't support your reasoning at all.

He's pretty good in 2K12, though.

Yeah, what stats are you looking at, DD? In no one's eyes does 39 percent field goal shooting and 34 percent 3-point shooting equal a sound offensive player.

 

Awesome, whom do you have in mind that is a superior talent on our bench?

I mean we are a team of role players and unproven young players, many resurrection projects that are not working out...none of them.

The only - 09 draft pick that has been pretty succesful has been CBud, and he is clearly just an average player.

Heck Dalembert had his 21 pts 16 rbs game and he is a role player.

 

So he went 11-for-32 in however many games before tonight. He hits his one 3 tonight and that makes him the great shooter you say he is?

Does that mean Dalembert is all of a sudden the next Hakeem in your eyes?

 

You are using one small game to measure his value, that is not fair or accurate.

Why not measure the team going 15-8 down the stretch last year with him starting and putting up 15-6 ish?

I know you guys are down on him, but you are not asking the right questions.

Hell the entire team's shooting percentages are down this year.....almost everyone's percentages are down, and the team's D is worse, why is that?

THAT is the more important question, we should not be starting threads blaming a guy who plays 20 minutes a game for struggling to get his game together, we should be looking at the bigger picture as to why all peoples stats are down, and we give up more points in the paint with a shot blocking big as our starter.

THAT is a more relevent question, and the answer is Kevin McHale is not 1/2 the coach that Rick Adelman is...

Cool down. Rick Adelman is gone. He has no effect. I won't blame any coaches early in the season because McHale has done more things than Bud will ever be able to do.

 

You are higher than a kite if you think a good coach has no effect....Rick Adelman is worth several wins a year - as are coaches like Phil Jackson, George Karl and others....

Kevin McHale so far has proven he is a hall of fame player and a losing coach and GM.

We know that though. I don't think anyone is too happy with the McHale hiring. Horrible move. But again, I guess Daryl Morey is still the next best thing in general managing.

You and I agree McHale sucks. We still give up a lot of points in the paint because our perimeters suck, which means the defense is broken down and Dalembert has to scramble. Dalembert is the only defensive presence in the starting lineup. What do you expect from him?

It's a matter of culture. I'm going off topic, but of course the bigger picture sucks. No identity. A team of (mostly) scrubs. Two of our three best players don't play defense. The other player is a PG who can't create his own shot.

But this thread is about Bud. And he sucks. But just because everyone sucks does not give him an excuse. He's no rookie. He should be getting slammed like Hill is. Both have considerably underachieved and don't produce much at all. We're just curious as to why you don't see the same, in regard to Bud.

Of course..... Samuel Dalembert out of shape and without having spent 3 yearswith the team is showing MORE VALUE.
That is a testimony that Bud really sucks hard this year in comparison to his first year. Even last year he had a major slump.
He is a below average starter and as you said not a real good asset, role player under McHale, the average coach.
Unfortunately the whole league is full of average coaches not named Adelman or the Zenmaster.......maybe Pops

 

There is no reason for this thread, the Rockets won and Bud played well tonight in very limited minutes.

The numbers don't lie, he is an average NBA player.

I am just rebelling against the general suckitude of the GARM and people looking to point fingers at role players when there is much more that is wrong with this team than a guy who is doing what he is asked and doing it in a decent manner.
