I'm seriously tired of Dierdorf. He's an announcer. He's supposed to at least pretend to be impartial. If you go into the game publicly stating how badly you think the Ravens are going to smash the Texans, it automatically makes you biased because you don't want to be proven/wrong or look like an idiot to the world.

You're absolutely right. Phil Simms was on the Showtime NFL show this week...when they started talking about the NE/Den game, he said he couldn't comment on his prediction because he was announcing that game.

Seriously, stop posting about a game you know nothing about. The Ravens might win this game, but it has nothing to do with the fact that they are 8-0. All that goes out the window in the playoffs. Both teams have an equal amount of pressure on them.

Yeah, it's a standard practice. For example, even on College Gameday - which is a prediction-oriented show - Herbstreit never makes a pick on the game he's announcing. Really out of line for Dierdorf to make such strong comments.

Seriously, how unprofessional can you freaking be?? I guess it's safe to say we're in for some Flacco/Rice knob-slobbing this Sunday from him. Oh well, **** him. It'll just make it that much sweeter if the Texans pull this off. Think about it this way, this is the last time we have to hear from that fat **** this season, either way.

I'd say they are due for a loss then.

Still though, the Texans can't beat the Ravens...;)

That is pretty bad by Dierdorf. More bulletin board material, though.

I'm re-watching the first game this year against the Ravens. It's making me more and more optimistic. Little things could have swung this game a good deal. For instance, the Ravens were at the goal line, and two Antonio Smith personal fouls gave the Ravens two first downs. We stonewalled them on two or three plays before Flacco sneaks it in. If there were no fouls, they would have settled for a field goal. Foster, and he admitted it, looks pretty bad, despite some decent blocking. Kubiak went for it on a fourth and one in the middle of the second quarter and Foster fumbled, even though he would have been short(The officials missed a HUGE facemask penalty as Cody grabbed Foster's head and almost ripped it off..Dierdorf pointed this out)...more points left on the board.

I'm only through most of the second quarter, but it's evident that the Texans have a decent shot against the Ravens. Barwin was nowhere near his stride. He was playing out of position, in fact, in this game (as others have said). Reed got some decent pressure, but I don't think he had his best game either. I have seen no balls batted at the line (yet), nor have I seen Watt make a play. So far, in the first half, the team has been hitting Flacco, producing two sacks. It is already evident to me, though, that Flacco is having an unreal game. He is just on the money. As of my posting, I think he is 7/10 with like 86 yards, and I know that two of the three passes were throw aways, but I can't remember the third. One of the two I'm thinking of should have been grounding, probably killing that TD drive. Ray Rice was not killing us running the ball, but in the short game.

The one thing that I am worried about is that Schaub was making a lot of tight-windowed throws that I don't think TJ makes. Schaub is playing fairly well this early in the game. Screen game is not working, though, and it's fairly evident that our receiving corps is just a huge patchwork. Derrick Mason is Schaub's favorite target early in this game (two days after being signed), and that says a lot about us missing Andre.

I think because Vickers wasn't playing his best, this is another reason why Foster wasn't faring so well.

Also, Jonathan Joseph seems to be having the worst game I can remember him having with the Texans.

Anyways, I'm going back to the game. I'm not expecting a win, but depending on how Yates performs, we really could steal this game. We need a huge defensive performance.

I would mute the game and put it on the radio, but Marc Vandeermer isn't exactly Brett Musburger either. Shock the world Texans. 24-17

I am having a vision of Texans running back interceptions for touchdowns. If that happens, we win.

I would quote but too long i am watching the game also Tate looked better then foster 1st half and everytime we blitz we get to Joe Flacco which is a good thing. MVP for 1st half was Jamison and Barwin my goodness they are terrorizing Baltimore's oline

I've never quite understood Dierdorf dissing the city like he has over the years (contrary to some belief, he trashed the Oilers on more than a few occasions) but this year's success has made him especially vocal and more obnoxious.
I consider him just one notch above Cowboy fan in his bias/prejudice.
It would be a dream if the Texans could shut his a$$ up Sunday.

Flacco just ends up getting unreal with the deep ball. I don't think he can do this again. The big plays are what beat this team. Big plays and dumb penalties. If we can fix those two things, limit turnovers, and cause a few, I honestly think we should be fine.

This team really does match up better with Baltimore than people believe. Yates is the wild card though. If we'd have had Schaub all season, I think we'd not only be the favorites for this game, but the favorites from the AFC.

Dierdorf is a senile armchair analyst hack.

I bet he hasn't watched game tape in years. Just shows up to the game and looks over the lineup card and tosses out judgement like he's an expert.

Mike Mayock probably spit out more knowledge last week than Dierdorf has in his entire career.

tremendous job by the national propagandist to make everyone believe that Rice is a much superior running back compared to Foster. Seen three articles where they are giving that match up to the ravens as well. =/ should be even at least.

It's friday! Can't wait!!! for playoff games tomorrow and sunday!

I re-watched the game last night and I noticed a couple of things too.
I think it was on the first Ravens drive that Flacco was basically sacked and in the grasp but flips the ball out for a so called incompletion but he was still in the tackle box and no receiver in the area, should have been grounding and it would have been a loss of down plus penalty yardage bringing up a 3rd and very very long. Instead no call and I think that is where they went on to score that first TD.

There was another play, on Torry Smith's long catch that Kareem actually knocked the ball out and the front side camera angle clearly shows the ball bouncing off the turf and back into Smith's arms, should have been an incompletion or challenged.

Another thing that I noticed, or rather did not notice during the game, save for maybe one time each was Haloti Ngata and Terrell Suggs names getting called. Duane Brown did a remarkable job on Suggs.

This was a tight game and these people like Mike Florio who characterize it as a whipping are going to be in for a shock come Sunday.
