I wasn't alive back around the Phi Slamma Jamma days but surely they had some memorable moments as well.
2006 Rose Bowl Game, Vince Young on 4th and 5 from the 9. Facing fourth and 5 from the 9-yard line, Young received the shotgun snap and found his receivers covered. Young then bolted towards the right sideline and received a critical block from Justin Blalock as he won the footrace to the end zone. The score, Young's third rushing touchdown of the game, gave the Longhorns a one-point lead with 19 seconds left to play.
Unfortunately, the lasting single memory will always be the airball and putback from N C State. The Louisvlle game prior to that was a series of memorable moments.

Olajuwon blocking starks in game 6. Killed the Knicks' chances. (my friend's parents are still angry about that)
He was so on fire, looked like every hall of fame slugger of the last hundred years rolled into one. I have never seen anything like it. You expected a homer every time he went to the plate and he usually delivered. Turns out in was a once in a life time event for him and us.
My primary argument against Watt's play, is that it wasn't a game winner. Yes, it gave us the lead, which we would never give up, and it gave us the momentum, but it ultimately wasn't the deciding score or a game deciding play The Oswalt game 6 and EJ's shot against the Jazz are good ones. Not sure I can rank Biggio's 3000th hit over the Watt play.
I was primarily focusing on team accomplishments, specifically the big 3 (Oilers/Texans, Rockets, Astros).

I always thought Kenny Smith's 3 to tie game 1 of the 1995 NBA finals and send it to OT where we won was an incredible moment. Such a clutch shot...in a game we really up to that point had no business winning. Right then and there I felt we were destined for a back to back.
This was one of the greatest hitting expositions ever. It was like he was taking batting practice. A funny note: Beltran's performance overshadowed an almost historic playoff batting performance by Berkman as well. I think THAT team was the best team that the Astros ever put together. If it weren't for injuries to Pettite, I think we win it all that year. I think the win against the Cowboys in the first game is such an over-rated thing. Its like one of those things that is embarrassing to be proud of. Greatest moment in sports history? A regular season win over a mediocre team in the first game of the season. I understand the historical context, but yuck. I'm a Texans fan and I HATE that its supposed to be one of our greatest moments...shows that until this year, we had too few moments to be proud of. I'm hoping with all the epic stuff from this year, we can stop putting that moment at the top.
Sorry, but I don't consider UT games as Houston sports. Despite having a Houston guy make the winning play. It's the same way I won't consider a Houston kid at SMU or Texas Tech, Arkansas, Southern Miss, Miami, LSU, Kansas St, and Florida St as Houston sports. Sampsons shot, I didn't see it live, as I was maybe three years old or so, and it was in LA, so that wasn't going to help me out any, but I think that shot put the Rockets on the NBA Map as a legit franchise. "A name Franchise." Eddie Johnson's three in game four still brings back great memories. It was suppose to go down to Hakeem, but he Clyde got doubled on the entry pass, so he had to pass it back to Maloney who probably could had hit that three seeing as he was hot the series before vs Seattle. He gave it to Eddie Johnson who launched a 3 that seem to last forever in the air. The reactions were so damn real and not masked. Pure pandemonium.
