    There were only three people on-board the plane. All 3 died.

    Most of the fatalities were on the ground. The plane crashed on top of an elementary school.

    I've always thought and read that planes can glide even when the engines fail, sort of like how the Miracle on the Hudson happened. Is this not the case?

    They need a certain speed or they stall. You saw it glide then just fall.

    O man, that plane just dropped like a rock...no glide whatsoever.Hopefully no pain for victims.- Got to treat everyday life as a precious gift

    Always horrible to witness something like this on film.

    By the way, those kids had a strange reaction. They didn't seem to think anything was out of the ordinary until they saw the fireball, which came a good 3 seconds after the plane was quite clearly plummeting to the ground. Weird.

    It looked to me like it had stalled during a bank. That would have caused the no gliding. From what I read they radioed for emergency landing right after take off. It looked like they were turning back lost power in the turn and the plane stalled and plummeted at that point. If he was not turning their may have been the possibility to continue to glide.

    Whenever I see a plane crash video, I'm always reminded of the Sknyliv Airshow Disaster where a plane crashed into a crowd of people killing 77.

    Did both engines stall there, or did one keep running and pull the plane in that direction hard?
