Melo's had a lot of injuries this season. Sucks for him. I don't mind a nice draft pick, but injuries...just...suck.
Used 2K12 for 360 to simulate through 2011-2012. Our pick was slated to be 4th, but won the lottery and the NY pick was 7th. Got Drummond and Perry Jones.

Well they are 6-5 after 11 and in the 7th seed. I think they only have downside potential to them as well. Too much of the workload is being put on Amare and Melo. They are both 10 year vets. Melo is playing great, but I feel like Amare's knee is HIGHLY suspect 6 years out from microfracture since they had mentioned resting him. The articular cartilage created by microfracture doesn't last forever and in my experience my knee really went downhill quick from year 5 to year 7 after microfracture. I hope he is 100% healthy, but the fact that he needs rest has really raised red flags for me. Actually, I just found a quote from Craig Sager in 2007 who talked to the doc who did Amare's surgery. The doc said Amare would need the procedure again in 3 or 4 years. Here we are about 4 years later and the articular cartilage is failing. Anyhow, there are clearly 4 bottom feeders in the East. -Washington -New Jersey -Charlotte -Detroit The tier above that is likely to be -Cleveland -Toronto Then you have the wildcard in Orlando. They could still end up making it to the playoffs even if they trade Dwight depending on how their team reacts. All that said, I think if the Knicks can stay somewhat healthy then they will be anywhere from 7th to 9th. If they lose Melo or Amare for an extended period of time I think they could fall down into the 10th or 11th seed area, but it's going to be hard for them to be worse than those 4 crapster teams.
I don't see the Knicks moving past 8th in any scenario. The Pacers finally have some depth so they should be good this year. Philly also looks for real. Miami Chicago Boston Philly Orlando Indiana Atalanta I don't think with their pathetic depth the Knicks have a chance to finish ahead of those teams. Here's hoping Milwaukee, Cleveland, or Toronto can step it up.
Not sure why this matters. The Knicks pick is top-5 protected. And also, there's not a single College player who says he's going to leave for the NBA in the midst of the college regular season.
Atlanta lost Horford for the season, in last night's game. It may drop them to the 7th-9th seed level. It remains to be seen.
Maybe we should send them Thabeet, Hill, Dragic for Hinrich, Stackhouse, top 20 protected 1st rd '12 to help them in the frontcourt.
both of them have expiring contracts it's more about the 1st rd pick and the Rockets won't have to worry about picking up the options on Thabeet or Hill.

Hawks have Pachulia and Collins taking up minutes at C now. They don't really need Hill or Thabust, since those guys would ride pine behind Pachulia. They are in the 6th seed, so a drop to the 9th spot is within range. They are only 2.5 games ahead of the 9th seed.
Thabeet is just there to make salaries match. Hill would bring more athleticism off the bench and your definitely right about Thabeet on the pine though lol.
Hell, I'd send them Scola and Flynn or Williams for Hinrich's expiring contract and their top-3 protected pick. But I'm pretty sure Playoffs or Bust Les would veto.
