Thanks for this site! I'm going to give them a call after work. Do you know if they are pricey at all?

They seem like a shop that cares about the pets. If not, I'll keep looking at rescue sites. However, a puppy is high on the list. So it'll be tougher going that route

would require a days drive, but seems to be legit french bulldogs, is rescue so should make you feel a little, and may be a lot cheaper, though there will still be a cost.

seems to have a few puppies.

Thanks for the link. This is perfect aside from the drive. I plan on contacting them anyway to see what can be worked out

Wanted to bump this thread. Just got married, and we are officially on a couple waiting lists. We did our research and have been screened. I didn't know it was this serious!

If anyone can recommend a reliable French bulldog breeder in Houston, please let me know. Thanks!

$2,000-3,000. I've seen $1500s, but that was from "ship only" places

Well over 100,000 dogs listed, and not one Labradoodle. :-(-

Breed is because of qualities they want in a dog that reflect themselves...

A puppy usually because it is easier to train from birth and there are less psychological issues to worry about.

I agree. Try the rescue sites. Breeders are dog factories.

Any dog can be trained at any age - I've taught my parents' 16 year old Golden Retriever a few things. And the great thing about older dogs is that you almost never have to waste time on housebreaking - you can concentrate on more "good citizen" tasks.

I hate seeing people blow thousands of dollars on a one purebred puppy when there are thousands of awesome dogs in shelters and at rescue organizations that can be had for one hundred dollars (or less). If you are willing to go on a waiting list for a purebred, you should use the time to hit petfinder and see if you can't find a less expensive but probably healthier (purebred dogs have all kinds of awful health issues due to inbreeding - no matter what the breeder may say)) and more loyal alternative.

It's your choice ultimately, but I think the purebred route is a bad one.
