How about you post the actual numbers instead of using Bleacher Report....which is embarrassing? If Lebron is so effective down the stretch at the end of games why is he still ringless???
Before the season is over, LeBron will resolve his issues closing games. I am completely dumbfounded by what has happened to him and have no explanation. Mentally, he may not be an assassin like Kobe, but his talent alone should be enough to dominate at the end of games. I doubt we have these same conversations in the playoffs (unless people continue to magnify every single mistake).
In fact I'll go ahead and post the numbers that really matter http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/miamiheat/post/_/id/8778/the-lebron-james-4th-quarter-experience
LeBron in the "clutch": http://www.nba.com/statscube/player...1112;season=r;splitType=clutch;splitValue=all 2011 playoffs "clutch": http://www.nba.com/statscube/player...1011;season=p;splitType=clutch;splitValue=all 2010-2011 "clutch": http://www.nba.com/statscube/player...1011;season=r;splitType=clutch;splitValue=all
Dwayne Wade should have the ball, end of story. Lebron can go for 30-10-10, and hand it off to a top 3 closer in the league in Wade...
Again, you guys come up with one f.ckin playoffs or season and decide to ice out his whole career in which he was one of the top clutch performers in the league in all important aspects. Why is it embarassing to quote an article that uses real numbers and stats? Are the numbers suddenly worthless because they're posted on a certain site? "It says the Rockets are last in the west, this must be BS because the records were posted on bleacherreport". I don't get it, take the numbers for what they are. I won't post all his clutch numbers here, but if you lazy guys would actually take a few minutes of your time to skip through the career clutch stats on sites instead of writing inexcusable, fictional **** there wouldn't even be a doubt or case for an argument here. Smh on the terrible ignorance on this board.
I hear you but LeBron's clutch stats in Cleveland are worthless now. It all began with the Finals last year and the only thing that matters is what LeBron does this season (especially the playoffs).
Lebron has different standards to every other player in the league. It doesn't matter if he puts up historic stats in the regular seasons + 3 rounds in the playoffs. It's all about winning the ring for him, and how he performs in the ultimate stage. He could be clutch every game and not be clutch in the Finals and it's worthless. Or he could be unclutch every game and then be clutch in the Finals and he's revered. What Lebron does from now till the Finals is irrelevant. It's all about what he does in the Finals after last year's embarrassment v. the Mavs.
his ego is way too big. when his psyche took a hit (after the miami union of friends and non-family turning on him) his ego wouldn't adjust during pressure (playoffs/forth qts). until he realizes he has nothing to prove he'll live in suckaville in the 4th qts.
LeBron choked in clutch due to his lacking of skills in the midrange game. From 07 to date, his team has lost to Spurs, Celtics, Magic, Celtics, Mavericks. All of them have a good defensive center. The recipe is simple, a fast guard to stay in front (can be as short as Barea), a defensive center to help under the hoop, and LeBron saw the lane clogged with single coverage. He's not good off ball, he's not good at post-up, and he doesn't have the footwork to dribble and get some separation in perimeter. Now deep into playoff and particularly in clutch time, refs prefer letting players decide the game, and Bron bron didn't get the touch foul he usually gets. All he could do is to launch contested 3 pt shots. He was lucky to hit some in Bulls series, but the law of average caught him in finals.
The finals last year proved Wade's the better player. Even if you want to take the entire playoff, Wade's statistically better.
I've said it before and I will continue to say it until LeBron, nobody else with stupid "facts" and "stats", prove me wrong, Wade is the best player in Miami.
Here are the stats. 2011 playoff PER Wade 26.3 LeBron 23.7 I believe PER is the most favorite stat among LeBron nuthuggers, with the inventor Hollinger being biggest one. Clutch or not, shouldn't LeBron top Wade on this before claiming the best player in his team?
You can put all the stats away. All you need to know is that last night he was given the ball on presumably the last possession and proceeded to miss a lay up and get a call (a call incidently that no one in the NBA gets when driving to the bucket with 5 tics left in a game. In a similar situation in our game last night Lowry was hacked by three Spurs and Scola had to scramble for a loose ball without a whistle). He then proceeded to go 1/2 from the line twice with an opportunity to tie the game. This wasn't some heave he threw up with the defense keying in on him, these were free throws. The fan base in Miami has reason to be critical. I'm not celebrating as much as the guy started the thread but that was a choke job.
Life is beautiful. Even the best natural talents have to overcome some hurdles. Lebron should do his best to turn things around. If he truly is a great, he will do it. Although I'm not a big fan of his, I'd be more than happy to see him evolve. That's somehow inspiring for me. Noone gets it for free. Not even a freak talent like Lebron. When one can overcome a hurdle by sheer force of will and hard work, it's uplifting.
