In warfare you have to dehumanize the opposition to rationalize the insanity killing them. You have to detach yourself from your own humanity to be able to do an inhumane job. In that reality, the line gets blurry; the difference between exhibitions of dominance and desecration gets pretty thin. The dead don't care, the tragedy will be these men having to deal with their own state of mind for rest of their lives. What seems like a warriors exhilaration then will probably manifest itself as guilt and self-loathing once their reality returns to a normal set of values. Real war isn't Call Of Duty. (If they had shat on them, would it be Call Of Doody)
This is a bad thing and they should be punished. That being said, far worse things are done by the army fairly regularly, so any sort of punishment should be comparatively light.
I teabag fools all the time in COD. More on topic, why would anyone even want to do something like this? That does not look fun at all.
i find it funny that no one minds that the soldiers killed them in the first place. I mean, if you think it's disrespectful for pee on someone...isn't taking their life the ultimate disrespect?
Wtf, I can't believe people are outrage by this. Those men deserve to get pee on. They are our enemy. I think they are the enemy of every single intelligent person. I wish I was present so I could have took a big dump on there face.
This is clearly unacceptable behavior. The USA (and the West in general) should and does hold its soldiers to higher standards. Having said that, I have the utmost respect for soldiers and what they do. I recently finished reading a book called "The Good Soldiers" by David Finkel, which, more than any other war related book I have read (and I've read a lot) depicted the personal horror and torment that soldiers endure, and the price they pay - both mental and physical. I will never sit in judgment of soldiers.
Its funny to see people say this isnt a big deal, and then get their panties twisted when I make a comment that a portion of our military are those that struggle to make it in a structured society. I guess when we pee on others, its okay, but if any comments are slightly derogatory towards our men, then we should riot. Im surprised at the "oh well, **** happens" attitude many of you are carrying.
my only problem with this is recording it. why the hell would you want to piss off more people in the ME?
Look, a lot of those dudes are fairly brainwashed, and they're all fighting for something they clearly shouldn't. But they didn't all hack off someone's head, and in any case, we don't need to stoop to their level. On the other hand, it's war, and young-dumb-and-full-of-c** soldiers are dealing with a lot of tension and things I don't know about personally, and these things wind up happening. Just wish someone was there to say, "Hey, don't piss on that body" or "hey, dumba$$, don't film it".
Was it the right thing to do? No. Am I going to sit here and pass judgment on a group of guys who were in a kill-or-be-killed situation with the guys they're peeing on? No. I just wish they hadn't filmed it.
ya'll remember that episode of gomer pyle usmc when he like broke into 'n raided them coloreds' house to steal their cooking oil and poppy seeds, and then after shootin em dead he took a big leak on their faces too? hooo boy those were the golden day of tv i tell yer
I'm sorry buddy but war is much harsher than society. Take advice from someone who has experienced both. You really have zero understanding of what these people go through.
