He definitely does, and especially one specific segment of the populace that is still less likely to be football fans: women. Women love the guy. Some combination of his good looks, over-the-top niceness, innocence to be defiled, and confidence drives women crazy. And that includes women who weren't football fans, or were marginal football fans.

tebow-mania is out of control now, I am positive that he can keep winning and by the end if he wins the superbowl everyone will be sick of it and start hating the guy for no reason just because tebowmania will be on overdrive. He's basically mentioned at least 30x on SportsCenter every hour. Always the lead story. The worst is on ESPN First Take or should I say ESPN Tebow Take. 4 out of every 5 of their discussion points is Tebow. Today they entire discussions about what Alvin Gentry said about Tebow AND what Charles Barkley said about Tebow. What's worse is that they had a guy IN-STUDIO singing an ACOUSTIC Tim Tebow SONG!
Tebow wouldn't do anything in Carolina. Yes I know he turns the ball over less than Cam but anyone who thinks Tebow would do anything in Carolina is kidding themselves. The last note doesn't mean anything in terms of who is better between the two.
I think you underestimate how smart Cam Newton is. His coaches talk about how he blew them away pre-draft with his intelligence and extremely quick grasp of pro offensive schemes. He apparently also crushed the Wonderlic. The Panthers DID run a pro style offense, but they mixed it up with option plays to take advantage of Cam's athleticism. That had nothing to do with Cam's ability to run a pro offense -- it was purely complementary to take advantage of his abilities.
