Royce Da 5'9" is severely underrated. People hate on him just because he collabs with Eminem all the time.

    Meek Mill is also good.

Childish Gambino uses a lot of dark humor.

Tyler, The Creator is iffy. I still like his songs though.

I just can't get into Donald Glover's music for some reason. I have the album, I've listened to the mixtapes some songs are ok but it just won't grow on me. All I hear from my friends is how great he is and how he's one of the top rappers out right now. I'm like really? He's witty, his style is different but I don't know I wish he'd do more stand up lol

Went to his show about a year ago thinking it was going to be standup, but it was only 15 minutes of comedy and an hour of concert, or him yelling the word swag.

This is basically how I feel about it. Drake got too big headed and now he pretty much has to respond to keep any part of this "hard rap" image he's been putting on as of late.

He better at least come decent because Common will rip him to shreds regardless, but he may be able to at least limp out with some dignity.

This is what came to mind when I saw this thread too, lol.

Common was actually right in responding to Cube's attack with a diss of his own in their beef, because Common wasn't intentionally targeting a specific rapper when he mentioned the 'west' in his song I used to love h.e.r.

But this, on the other hand, is just ridiculous. The three songs in the OP were actually alright in terms of simple entertainment value, but that first video with Common attacking Drake is just so forced. Being hardcore is just not part of Common's overall persona as a rapper.

I like Common and Drake is what he is...a guy who makes music you listen to when you go out to the club. Neither are hardcore enough to be beefin'.

Edit: All this is over a woman? Smh, lol

    Agreed.

To your edit- all this over a woman that I think Common isn't even dating anymore? (Or am I wrong, what's the deal? Is Common with Serena or not?)

As of right now I think they're back together. They were engaged at one point so maybe it just feels more personal to him.

Common said this was bout drake calling himself the best and in hip hop you gotta beat the best so he went at him. it irks me when people call it "beef" its just hip hop, people been going at each other on tracks, its one of the keys to hip hop, a "beef" would be two stupid trappers who have no business dissing each other cz all they know how to rap about is drugs and b****es, no creativity, thats not hip hop. going at a strong lyrical artist who calls himself the best...thats hip hop. while drake may not be hip hop per se..his rhyming ability, schemes, creativity are all hip hop, he's a pop rapper with hip hop ability. It aint always about "beef" sometimes its just a hip hop war of words with a handshake after.

Well that makes two Drakes that have a beef with Common.

I was done with Common after paying $40 to see his 25-minute "show" a couple year ago.

Yeah, I was real disappointed, but fans were still going crazy even though I don't think anyone knew the words to anything he was saying.

Was that Verizon where NERD opened?

I was there! First of all, it isn't NERD of the asian guy isn't there, that was just Pharell. Second, Common performed a bunch of "new" songs. It just felt awkward with the crowd not knowing the words and not feeling the songs at all.

Nah, at Warehouse Live two summers ago, I think. Biz Markie opened.

After standing through a bunch of lame slam poets (K-Rino showing up was cool though), two awful rappers, a 45-minute Biz Markie DJ Set (which was nowhere near as cool as it sounds), Common finally hit the stage.

The placed was packed, Common sounded great, real high energy, did all the hits, and bounced after barely 30 minutes. We all waited around cheering/chanting for about 15 minutes until one of the stage guys came out and said Common had left and the show was over. I thought there was gonna be a riot.
