Most European kids don't follow basketball. There's the lack of superstars in Europe. abstraction from Dirk,Pau.

"Hasheem enjoys what goes along with the NBA. Money, party… all that."

Great post, _RTM_. Work ethic is the thing that made Yao great, instead of being just a freakishly tall stiff. It's a shame Thabeet doesn't have that kind of fire to be the best he can possibly be.

It's ashame that Kwame Brown is still getting paid 7mil a year, and Thabeet can't even get off the bench

It's pretty obvious Thabeet lacks work ethic.

What aspect of his game has he improved on since coming to the league? He still shoots hook shots with his palm for crying out loud.

Poor guy has the charisma of a commode float. He just seems lifeless, no want to. Looks stoned.

The trainer was going for muscle memory over time. He was basically saying, here's 3 post moves, do them every day until you can do them with your eyes closed. That would've been a great foundation for someone entering the draft.

I said it before already, Thabeet has no work ethic. If he has, we would've seen some muscle definition in the offseason.

Just confirmation of what we already know. He can't play. We've all known it for awhile. We were hoping for a miracle. Dude can't play and dude don't care.

Do you guys remember the Road to the NBA draft they would show for rookies on NBA TV... well the year he was in it, i remember seeing his workout, and being a 5A highschool varsity bball player all i could think was, "This is the weakest workout i have ever seen a basketball player past the Freshman B team level do"

Hasheem doesn't really care about being a NBA player, you could see from the bench he is happy getting paid millions and just sitting back and being a cheerleader, he has no hunger to make his mark.

Contrast that to T-Will, who, clearly has that fire in him to want to be the best. When he is on the bench, you can see in his face that he is itching to get out there and help the team.

He is content with what he has. What a loser, get him off the team. They really should prioritize work ethic when scouting players.

The bolded part is the most important here. The guys that lack athleticism are the ones that hustle the most, not simply euro ballers. There are euro ballers in the league that aren't hustlers...you mentioned Darko but there's Gallinari, Bargnani, and Fernandez...great athletes that are just as prone to slack off on D when they could use their size/athleticism to be stoppers. And u wanna talk about attitude problems? what about Darko going hulkamania on his jersey on the sidelines? what about V-Span whining his way back to Greece?

I could rattle of numerous American ballers who hustle their behinds off (and don't have great athleticism) Battier, Duncan, Raja Bell, Kurt Thomas, Kevin Love, etc.....and there are plenty of guys who have great athleticism that work their tails off every night like Kobe, Wade, Gerald Wallace, etc.

And, let's not act like strength is something just given to you. I agree everyone can't have a body like Dwight Howard (even though he obvously worked hard to get a body like that). Some guys like KG worked hard to gain functional strength to bang in the post (in TWolves days) despite having wiry frames. It's not lack of athleticism or bad genes that makes so many of these european players have those doughy physiques and or be incapable of (or unwilling) to bang in the post. They just haven't done what's necessary to compete down there.

I guess I'm just tired of dealing with this long tale of how euro basketball and its players are so much better than ours. Give it a rest. Our guys have proven in international play they can work just as hard, play just as good of defense, and can display just as much fundamentals, or more.

He doesn't seem to be physically gifted, but I think you can't teach the lack of bball IQ.
