Not possible, Chase is a much better defender and rebounder than Kmart...and a better passer too. KMart is an elite scorer, but not much else. DD
Unless Martin fetches an even better scorer, I would side with javal_lon on that one. You need a pure scorer in your starting line-up.
Vollyball is great ... But he should have focused more on basketball during the off-season ... Conditioning and strengthening of the legs from vollyball are great ... But repetition on the court for the sport you actually make a living playing is even better.
Watching Parsons play the biggest surprise is his speed and ability to put the ball on the floor. For his size he has good handles and he can finish over shorter defenders. He gets to the basket and has to eat his shot sometimes when the bigger guys are waiting for him. Plays smart on defense he seems to have a good feel for when to gamble and when to stay home. He rotates back to his man even when he gambles. Looks like Rockets got another steal in the draft!!
Battier was also helping the team, and the Rockets still valued his play last year. He was starting after all. He was traded to make room for the younger players and get an extra draft pick. If Battier was 10 years younger and on a rookie deal, the Rockets wouldn't have given him up so quickly.
Bud sounds a little down today morning: CBudinger chase budinger Life is a rollercoaster, gotta prepare for all the bumps and turns
I don't know how any of you guys actually thinks of Bud as a 2. He's too slow to cover the 2 and he can't create off the dribble.
Budinger is not a creator. No matter what numbers you w**** out to make it seem that way. At this point (with his confidence ) he is done. At his best, he is a rotation back up sf who will hit threes, make the occasional athletic play and be marginally abused as a defender. I really think a Martin/Budinger package out of town is in order. Martin is getting the shots that a number 1 offensive option should in this slightly altered system. He is having no success with those. He is scoring when they are drafting off of the memories of the last few years on the offensive end. I wish Martin+Budinger could become Monta Ellis.
Are you really claiming Parsons is a better defender than those three? What a gross overreaction off a few games.
I'd hesitate to say Budinger is a better defender than anyone, that's including Kmart. Better rebounder? probably. Better passer? Maybe. If he is better it's by a negligible amount. On offense, Budinger just shoots open 3's and makes a driving layup once in a while. He doesn't have enough fire power. If he started at the 2 he'd still struggle to reach 20 points a night imho.
Did yall notice that Bud was going hard for offensive rebounds last night? Me thinks he wanted a putback slam like Parsons Hopefully this sparks a fire under Bud and he plays possessed
Sure....if he was younger and cost less I am sure we would have kept him. But this kid still hasn't shown to be a Battier yet either. Good hustle...good effort...good stuff. But I am only saying that his breakout game...that is his SCORING is something we have to wait and see on.
He is going to have to do some soul searching. I am not sure he is mentally tough enough. When he slumps he slumps bad as proven last year at the start of the season and by the way he has responded to change this year. Also hard to see Chase as more of a creator than Kmart.
Chase is going the wrong way about handling this. If he had any fire in him, he would work his butt off to try to improve little by little, and most importantly, just PLAY HARD AND AGGRESSIVE WHEN HE'S IN THE GAME!
Shane scored 20 while he was with the Blue Devils and he was a legit 13 ppg scorer with Memphis. Heck noone would JUST give him away.
