LOL 16.5 points per game when apparently in a slump and fighting injuries and flu. i would take that any day.
No space to drive when Lowry has already collapsed the D and kicked itbout to Martin. Diferent offense has different opportunities. Very few back door cuts. DD
If we could get Brooks for Martin, that would be awesome. Sadly, I don't think any team would want a defense-less chucker unless their coach is Rick the Ruler.
It's a fan messageboard. Do you honestly think people aren't going to critique or praise players during the season? Of course it's early...the OP acknowledged that. But to suggest we can't talk about it yet because the season isn't over? Shut down the GARM...no discussion on the quality of the team's or individual play until the season is over.
Remember when the Nets had interest in both Scola AND Martin? We could get Marshon If Daryl really wanted him... Problem is, outside of Marshon I don't want ANYTHING from that roster. (Assuming Brook/Deron are off the market)
I love how people quote stats and than make statistical comparisons but then completely ignore statistcal laws. I bet outside the ft shooting, K-mart is shooting the same as last year from a sample size error perspective. And furthermore, it looks like he is shooting more 2 pointers than 3pointers...and making more 2 pointers than last year. Probably because he isn't looking to draw the foul every time and thus takes better quality shots.
Brooks would be incredible in McHales old style of offense, he would be a nice compliment to Lowry. But that would be the ooompa loooompa backcourt..... DD
Marshon is the one... I am so down to trade Goran and sign AB for a cheap, potentially longterm deal. I wonder If he would consider it... Brooks/Lowry smallball= SCARY...
If he hits the open shots that he usually hits then this thread doesn't exist. Stop complaining and making up reasons.
Oh, then next time I'll just make a thread that says: Martin sucks! Then there'll be no need for stats! We all win!
I'm not sure what you're trying to say here. I just said that if he makes the open shots we're used to seeing him make then he averages 23-24 ppg again and no one is complaining.
He wouldn't be averaging 23-24 ppg if he just did that. This is the point about the small sample size. At this point in the season, if he was to shoot the exact same %'s as last year, we're talking about him hitting a few extra shots total. Like 2 extra 3 pointers and 4 extra twos... something like that, haven't done the exact math. The lack of FT's is playing a big role. He's taking almost 5 less FT's a game. Him shooting better would help, but he also needs to find ways to get to the line again.
Ya but that's a faulty way to evaluate it. He already is basically shooting same % as last year but it's very evident that he's missing wide open shots that he never usually misses. He's clearly changed his approach concerning drawing fouls which means he SHOULD be shooting a few % better from the field, at the cost of FTs. Which would be exactly what's happening if he made those 2 open shots per game that he never misses.
Or he's not getting bailed out by the refs, hence the -4 FTA. Then you add the lower FG% and you see that at this point in the season, he's a low percentage shooter who does not get to the line. We're so lucky! Clearly the best shooting guard since prime T-Mac!
